Since the Templars died out in the 14th Century and left no descendants, I think you're wrong.

My wife, her brother and her niece and our three daughters are all descended from Philip the Fair of France and from Edward III of England but there will be no apologies issuing from any of them for the elimination of Jacques DeMolay & Company. There are, however, probably hundreds of thousands of such descendants around nowadays and some can be found to apologize. JP II is probably not a descendant of Philip the Fair.
