These men do this, and John Kerry, the pissant, tried to pass himself off as a "hero"
Now I'm seriously pissed!

Where in the world would they hang for self extraction? Maybe I just don't see enough of the craft to see the places to attach the straps.

Hi, RC!

Great to see that you're still "on message" this election night -- still passing on the GOOD news about our fantastic troops!

Bless you for your faithfulness!!!

BTW, that had to be a wild ride out on the exposed 'wing' of that Apache!

I'm surprised that apache could get off the ground with the size of the brass balls that was attached outside...

Thank you so much for posting this story. I was assigned to the 1st Air Cav in Vietnam and I swear that the helicopter pilots are the bravest souls in the world, bar none.

I recall one time a huey from the 1st Cav went into a hot lz near the A Shau Valley to extract some wounded. They got shot down. Another huey went in, it got shot down. A third went in to rescue them all, it got shot down. Then a medevac helo went in and got shot down. This happened six times and finally the seventh huey got in to pull them ALL out. The guys who fly those things will live in my mind as the bravest men ever.

Wow. To the original story and yours. And the photo of the Apache - to all folks who think helicopters are alike, take a look. No real place to put those men. Wow.

Thanks for posting this, RC. Norski

I think the hand holds are those pair of metal loops just behind the door.

I saw those after I made my post. I sure wouldn't want to be hanging on there. God bless those guys for their courage.
