I just read in the paper that the local police arrested two teenagers from a town about twenty miles away with a car filled with Bush and other Republican candidates signs. The arrest happened last Saturday night. Their court date is October 28th. I will be taking the day off from work to hopefully see justice done!!

Two weeks ago our Bush yard signs where proudly surrounding the front yard. Over the last week the have been mysteriously disappearing. Has this happened to anyone else out there in Freepland? The Kerry guys must be getting desperate. More signs have been ordered!!

Don't feel alone. Sign theft and frequent vandalism is occuring out here in Washington state. And it has gotten nasty.
I replaced it with a hand made sign -- 3 times as large.. My sign:

I think there are people paying the brownshirts to tear down Bush signs. I lost my first one less than 2 days after it went up. The sign for my Republican Congressman was right next to it but was left untouched. I've been taking my new sign in at night rather than lose it.

Great new sign, river rat. I've had 2 signs stolen. Now, I take them in on Friday and Saturday night and still have them. It's a pain but I don't want these idiots on my lawn anyway.

As a member of the (name withheld to protect my idendity) County Republicans, I probably hear more quickly about the political sign destruction going on in the County than you do. I talked to just one candidate who has had $600. worth of signs stolen.
I would like to remind everyone that the US was founded 228 years ago. The Declaration of Independence said that governments were formed to protect our rights. The First amendment was specifically meant to protect our freedom of speech. Political speech particularly.
Now we fast forward to the 21st Century. Our County republicans are having their candidate signs torn down, stolen or defaced. I would also like to remind you of private property rights. These signs were ordered and paid for by the candidates. They own them and loan them to citizens who support those candidates. Someone is going on to other people’s property and stealing these signs.
If it is just kids in the area, then where are the parents who should be teaching their kids to respect others and their property? You are letting your kids down if you don’t teach them properly. If as I suspect, it is adults who are committing these crimes then shame on you, you are REALLY teaching your kids the wrong values.
The reason that I believe it is the adults involved in the democrat party taking down these signs is because of what happened when I attended the Tony Sanchez rally here in (my city). A young man handed a Tony Sanchez sign to the lady standing next to me and said that he worked for the Patrick Rose campaign and said that he just asked Patrick “if it was time to take down Rick Green signs.” This was a month before the election. I asked him “more importantly … what did Pat Rose say to that?” The democrat lady next to me quickly informed him that I was a Republican rather than chastise him for ILLEGAL behavior. Typical democrat thought, the ends justify the means. And it is so common in the party that he would be so up front with a stranger!
To those good people whose parents have said “we are democrats because we have always been and that is the way to vote”… the party has changed. IF you agree with this behavior, then go ahead and vote democrat. They will keep doing it, because it works. Across the US, Republican headquarters are being attacked, windows broken with cinder blocks and cars keyed. In 2004 we are being attacked for supporting a non-democrat candidate. (Truly this is the party of tolerance.)
Is this the kind of America that you want to live in? If you continue to vote Democrat and don’t call your party leaders local, state and federal and demand they stop these criminal activities, then you are a willing accomplice to the violence and upcoming voter fraud.
Republicans are always slammed for saying there is a “right and wrong”. You can’t just “do your own thing” when it involves stealing from another human being.
Besides being illegal this is just plain wrong.

I can be really ornery when I want to be. Besides, it was either that or waiting nearby with baseball bats.
Hook up a wire to the sign so anybody who touches it gets a shock.

Mine that was stuck in the dirt got ripped. Got a new one and stapled it with brads (about 20) to the fence. It's still on.
Lots of Fahrenhite 911 in the stores and in Blockbuster - no Fahrenhype to be found.
I bet they ordered their yard signs on the web. I don't think we even have a dim party headquarters here. The 'head' of the party for our county is a lawyer.
It's kind of funny, but if you try hard enough, I bet you could associate the sign thievery with economic gains in the printing industry. Heck, for every thief, there's a staunch republican willing to spend a little more money to replace a sign. We've always said you can't spend your way to prosperity...but maybe, just maybe...you can steal your way to it?!?!
In fact, I'm surprised that Kerry isn't blaming the thefts on the printing companies themselves...you know...suggesting that the printing companies and their brownshirts are just out to make "windfall" profits at the expense of the Kerry campaign.

ANNOUNCING............LIBERAL REPELLANT!
Here's my solution to Bush sign theft. There is a product called Bird Repellant. It comes in a squeeze tube, available at Rural King. It is clear (invisible) and very, very sticky. It does not wash off with soap & water. It can only be removed with Vegetable Oil!
I used it on our sign after the first theft. This morning we found our sign in the middle of the road. Someone had grabbed it but soon discarded it. I wonder how long they'll be running around with "sticky fingers"!
