Oil for corruption
Washington Times ^ | Oct. 7, 2004 | Ed Feulner

The cover-up is always worse than the crime, they say. But that doesn't necessarily hold true when you're dealing with the crime of the century — in fact, two centuries. And the U.N. Oil-for-Food program is among the largest criminal enterprises in history.

Over the course of several years, the U.S. General Accounting Office estimates Saddam Hussein's Iraqi dictatorship generated more than $10 billion in illegal revenues by exploiting Oil-for-Food.

Members of the United Nations seem to have been deeply involved in the scandal. For example, Benon Sevan, once the executive director of Oil-for-Food, was included on an Iraqi Oil Ministry listing of hundreds of people who allegedly received oil vouchers as bribes from Saddam's regime.

The biggest scandal in 100 years has drawn virtually no attention from the MSM because - so far, at least - they have not found a way to use it against Bush. Moreover, it makes their idol the U.N. look bad and, by implication, anyone - such as Kerry - who points to the U.N. as a moral beacon. Even more damning, it implicates France, whose opposition to Bush was portrayed as stemming from deep moral principle, not crass economic gain and corruption.

I think this is bubbling to the surface very nicely.

It was on the front page of the UK Times and Telegraph yesterday.

When it 1st broke, I couldn't understand why GW and the GOP didn't run with it. Well they look to have saved it to just the right time.

"Effin has already tied himself to the UN mast and now everyone can see why, France, Russia, China and Germany were so helpfull.

GW is gonna make 'Effin look like the simple minded idiot, commie lefty, lunny liberal, take yr choice or any combo or prefferably all, that he is.
