Saddam Hussein used a U.N. humanitarian program to pay $1.78 billion to French government officials, businessmen and journalists in a bid to have sanctions removed and U.S. policies opposed, according to a CIA report made public yesterday. The cash was part of $10.9 billion secretly skimmed from the U.N. oil-for-food program, which was used by Iraq to buy military goods, according to a 1,000-page report by the CIA-led Iraqi Survey Group.

You know, this should give Bush a huge bump in the polls. Here's why: Let's say the French aren't "bought" by Iraq. Therefore, they join the U.S.-led coalition, therefore shutting John F'n Kerry the heck up with his talk of "rushing to war" or conducting war properly. Now, I am sure as we continue, it will be learned that Russia and Germany were in on it somehow, which explains their reluctance to rid the world of Saddam. He was f*ckin' lining their pockets!

which was used by Iraq to buy military goods,

The enormous stockpiles of weapons found by our military after the invasion should be listed loud and clear. Most Americans have no idea that huge weapons stockpiles were found in schools, hospitals and fields. They may not technically been WMD, but they were certainly weapons.

this report is at least disturbing, now the question is , does Kerry still want to do business with these people? Bush has probably know this for some time and kept it quit until investigation was complete. Makes Kerry look like a fool.

At worst. this would seem to insulate Pres. Bush from claims of the "no WMD's in Iraq" by the ISG. He can then counter in the debate with this tidbit about our great French allies. Friday night might be fun.

Are these the same French and the same UN John Kerry wants to put America under? The same French,Russians and Germans that Kerry said we needed their support to go to war. Does Kerry think we should have paid them more than Saddam did to win their approval.
Kerry and Edwards are third string on World Affairs and neither of them ever did anything worthwhile in the Senate.
