The term conservative has taken a complete turn from what it meant just 4 years ago. If you are against the war in Iraq that shows me 100 percent how you think our national security should be ran, expecially in these times where national security is the #1 issue.

To me, if you are against the war in Iraq, don't even try to tell me you are a conservative, because you are staining the name conservative in my point of view. If you are against the war in Iraq, you are by no means a conservative in todays politics.

The thing that amazes me however, is that every time a Kerry representitive is on TV they say something like "We are here to talk about the REAL issues in America, like the economy, education, and health care." It is then, when I find myself talking to the TV and saying "Hey Mr. Campaign adviser, did you forget we were attacked on September 11, 2001?" It amazes me how almost everytime they leave the word "terrorism" OUT of "today's issues in America".

What if I think we're not fighting the war properly?

"If you are against the war in Iraq that shows me 100 percent how you think our national security should be ran, expecially in these times where national security is the #1 issue. "

So people who think that going after a secular dictator in the middle east was less important that places like DPRK (who presumably has some deliverable nukes by now), Iran (ditto) who actually proactively supports terrorists, etc., aren't for national security?

Iraq was the only of the -axis of evil- countries we COULD take out with anything resembling internation support or at least apathy, and the only one we could hit without a real chance of a nuke being used, or a very nasty war being fought (regardless of what cbs thinks, being able to invade and occupy a moderately hostile country with an active guerilla-tactic insurgency for a year and a half with 1000 kia's is a miracle).

If you look carefully at what these "neoconservatives" stand for, you'll generally find that they support President Bush in the Iraq war but agree with John Kerry on just about everything else.

If you think that sounds preposterous, just ask yourself if you've ever read an opinion piece in the Weekly Standard that supports the true meaning of the Second Amendment.

I actually can't stand the terms conservative and liberal....they lost their true meanings long ago. The left loves to juggle semantic interpretations, and stupidly the right has gone along with whatever new meaning they assign. Let's just refer to the parties....republican, democrat, Libertarian, Green etc.
That said, you are playing the same game as the left...by defining anyone who does not agree with the war in Iraq as "not conservative, you've created a new definition."
