DFU SONG: Deep in the Heart of Texas (Rather's FAX -- from Kinkos down in Texas)
DFU SONGS | 9-2004 | Lyrics, Doug from Upland

Posted on 09/15/2004 7:39:07 PM PDT by doug from upland

MIDI - DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS

They said to Dan...they had a plan...at Kinkos down in Texas

A forgery...is so easy...at Kinkos down in Texas

The store, they heard...had MS WORD...at Kinkos down in Texas

With such good taste...they'd cut and paste...at Kinkos down in Texas

Their superscript...looks really hip...at Kinkos down in Texas

They said they would...make Dan look good...at Kinkos down in Texas

The clerk was nice...he cut the price...at Kinkos down in Texas

CBS hacks...received the FAX...from Kinkos down in Texas

Dan Rather should be paid with counterfeit money. Of course it is phony but the information on it is correct.

Here's the other one for you to rewrite!

ABILENE

Abilene, Abilene
Prettiest town I ever seen.
Folks down there don't treat you mean
In Abilene, my Abilene.

I sit alone most every night
Watch them trains roll out of sight
Wish that they were carryin' me
To Abilene, my Abilene.

Crowded city, ain't nothin' free
Nothin' in this town for me
Wish to God that I could be
In Abilene, my Abilene.

How I wish that train would come
Take me back where I come from.
Take me where I want to be
In Abilene, my Abilene.

Rotgut whiskey numbs the brain
If I stay here I'll go insane.
Think I need a change of scene
To Abilene, my Abilene.

Outside my window cold rain falls,
Sit here starin' at the walls;
If I was home, I'd be serene

This is just off of Kevin McCullough's site:

~10:41pm~ EST
JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH ABILENE KINKOS: Bill Burkett has a standing account with the Kinkos in Abilene Texas, and while the lady who answered the phone would not be more specific she did say Burkett was in there last week - she waited on him on last (a week ago) Tuesday....

Do you smell a smoking gun? I sure do hope they have video surveillance tapes at that Kinko's store!

Kinkos will have the record of the call on a phone bill and in their fax machine. If it went on his account, we will know. The fax machine should immediately be seized by the government and checked.

Yep, I don't know for sure but this seems like it would certainly be illegal under Texas Law (forgery or intent to defraud, etc).

But, let's ask the next logical question. Everything I read indicates that this Burkett guy is a real piece of work. However, somebody had to open the front door for him to get into CBS News? I'm sure they get whacked out thoeries faxed into that place by the truckload everyday.

I contend that somebody had to have paved the way for him. Say, by calling ahead to the right people and explaining the story, getting them all excited about it, etc. Then the fax happens and goes on the air immediately from an "unimpeachable" source (aka, the Burkett front person, whom they trust from previous associations, etc). That is the person we should really be looking for and I'll bet that when he/she is found, they have a DNC connection?

Burkitt's lawyer is David?(I think) Van O's...Dem operative, Gore chad counting lawyer in Florida, and Dem candidate for Texas Supreme Court. Can you say connections?

I can smell frying bacon! If there's any recent connection between this guy and CBS News (phone calls, faxes, etc either directly from him or through his DNC contacts), it's time for breakfast!

Yeehah,Doug! You're good! tells the whole story--in meter,too!

Call Rush tomorrow and offer to sing it on the show--it deserves a wider audience.

I was inspired to do a refrain:

Producer Mapes...the news would shape....at Kinkos down in Texas.

Anchor Dan....went with the plan.....at Kinkos down in Texas.

60 Minutes 2.....will be Rather's Waterloo...(big finish!) at Kinkos down in Tex-as!

I contend that somebody had to have paved the way for him. Say, by calling ahead to the right people and explaining the story

Since they had used him as a source and interviewee before, he could very well have done this for himself. Doesn't mean he wasn't "put up to it" by a DNC connection, or that he himself isn't already connected to the DNC. Since he's a fundraiser and "packager" of contributions, or has been in the past, he's already got the DNC connections.
