At this point I really don't think it matters. We're two weeks out from the Rep. Nat'l Convention, and we're still seeing the effects of a Bush bounce. 6 points down in New York? Laura Bush headed to NJ to campaign? Sizable leads in FL and OH? Every poll produced seems to agree - Bush got a big bounce and it isn't fading.
Kerry's campaign has become an object of ridicule for everyone from football commentators to late night comics. Regardless of the current message, he's sunk. My guess is that Dems will slowly start directing their money to contested Senate and House races. Their guy's a loser and they know it.
Dare I say even California could be in play before it's all over?
Bush's ,military record stopped being an issue after the last election. The hardcore Dems may enjoy talking about it, but to John Q. Public its been there, done that.
Its fortunate for our side that CBS and the Kerry campaign haven't figured it out yet.
Wrong. The story is about lying and cheating, and using the MSM to make false allegations which they themselves know to be false. This entire story breaks Bush's way, and against Kerry and the DNC, because the electorate sees it as dirty-tricks politics. The story stopped being about the TANG thanks to FR and others, and has been about nothing but Rather and CBS's stonewalling since.
