I know -- they're going to report that, after pressuring their unimpeachable source, the source confessed that the memos were indeed fake, and has now provided them with the real typewritten memos.

That sounds plausible. A big controversy like this could easily shake out a lot of really talented forgers.

Now that they've located an old mechanical Olympia, or an old Selectric to type them on. And some "onionskin" (paper) for the "file copies".
