Way to boost those ratings, CBS!!!!

1. Push "big story" on President to get huge ratings.

2. Use discredited vice-chair of Kerry campaign and fake documents as evidence for "big story."

3. Wait to see if anyone notices.

4. If someone notices, trumpet upcoming response on nightly news show that nobody will watch anymore unless they think they are going to see Dan Rather hang himself.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

What does CBS have to lose? At least people are going to watch!

Remember when Howard Beale went mad on the air in the classic, Network? First, he announced he was going to commit suicide on the air, live. The audience went through the roof. Rather doesn't have the courage to commit actual suicide, but he may have a metaphysical suicide in mind.
