If Rather doesn't knock one out of the park this time, then he's finished. "They might be authentic" doesn't cut it here. He's gonna have to lay out the entire thing, including the source of these documents, and it better be a credible source. And the source had better be able to produce the originals.
The number of inconsistencies and irregularities that are presented by these documents is astounding, and a "might be" doesn't suffice.
Folks, we have to remember who Dan Rather is. he's a partisan left wing democrat, and a flake to boot. Everything he does is going to be akin to giving Kerry or Harkins air time to explain this. You simply are going to hear the rationalizations of a completely partisan idiot. I GUARANTEE he will say "whether or not the memos ultimately prove to be authentic ...."
