Olbermann is now claiming that he never called Malkin an 'idiot'.
I distinctly remember him making some smart ass remark when the show opened that included the word idiot.
I've checked the transcript and there is no record of the opening remark, just his standard opening, "Which of these stories will you be talking about tomorrow?".
In his blog, he says that he went and checked the transcript to see if he called her an idiot and of course couldn't find it. This gives him an out when he's caught.
Did any Freeper waste video tape on this loser?
I just saw one replay tonight where he said she "made a fool of herself" (which, of course, is stupid), but did not use the word idiot. However, I don't know if what I saw was what you are referring to. You could have seen a different part that he didn't replay for obvious reasons.
My wife hears "concepts" in her head sometimes and not words when she is listening. I might say "putting stress on that board" and she might later say that I said "bending that board," or something like that. It is possible that MM "heard" idiot when he actually said "fool..." The later is a bit more benign, though in this case it is basically the same since she was repeating what hasn't been refuted.
Tonight Olbermann got a Vietnam vet to speculate on whether John Kerry inflicted a wound upon himself. This guy wasn't in Kerry's outfit (that I heard), so how would he know? Does Olbermann really think Americans can be fooled by an opinion of someone who wasn't there over an observation of several that were?
He replayed the video tonite. His statement about Michelle was how she (in his words) "made a fool of herself". So he is correct, he didn't use the word idiot.
