Dreyfuss blasts Bush, urges Florida delegates to help Kerry

BOSTON

Actor Richard Dreyfuss offered a scathing critique of the Bush administration on Tuesday, urging Florida delegates to help John Kerry.

"For the past few weeks, the Bush re-election campaign has begun a ferocious effort to cast doubt on John Kerry's record as a senator, as a soldier, implications that he is not honest, not bright, that his wife is odd, that he is only a massive hypocrite from Vietnam days on," Dreyfuss said.

"It must be remembered that the Bush White House has a separate talent for character assassination that must not be confused with a talent for governance," said Dreyfuss, who starred in "Jaws" and "Mr. Holland's Opus."

"Kerry is an adult - he thinks things through. He learns from the present as well as the past. To George Bush, thinking things through is for sissies."

---

Actor Alec Baldwin told the state's delegates that a second term for President Bush could lead to "multiple" resignations on the U.S. Supreme Court and reverse course on issues such as abortion.

"There are people who are in the bullpen right now, who are in the on-deck circle right now - you know their names," Baldwin said, mentioning Hispanic lawyer Miguel Estrada and Mississippi Judge Charles Pickering, two of Bush's appeals court nominations.

Estrada withdrew his nomination in September and Bush gave Pickering a temporary appointment.

Baldwin, who recently appeared in "The Cooler," said judges like Pickering and Estrada were "ready to ravage individual rights in this country."

---

Family members of John Kerry and Teresa Heinz Kerry continued to press the case of the Democratic ticket to the Florida delegation.

Kerry's older sister, Peggy Kerry, asked Florida's activists to take nothing for granted in the upcoming election.

"It's not ABB - 'Anybody but Bush.' It's KEY - 'Kerry, Edwards and you'," Kerry said.

Andre Heinz, Heinz Kerry's son, said he was hoping Florida avoids another narrow contest and overtime session.

"Look forward to saying, 'there goes Florida - no contest,'" Heinz said.

Bush is dumb, yeah that worked last time. All of Hollyweird is coming out of the woodwork. I saw John Cusak on John McEnroe's show and they are both big Kerry guys. Victory will be sweeter than normal when they have to eat crow.

Ritchie Dreyfuss likes to think about things. He is smart, because people who think about things are smart. Mr. Dreyfuss ought to be King of the United States.

You know what's odd. If you've ever seen the movie "The American President." The actor who plays the lead GOP candidate (Dryfuss) is very liberal and obviously hates Bush. But the guy who plays the liberal president, Michael Douglass, is actually Conservative. This list shows celebrites and where they stand on politics.

Richard Dreyfuss is a sorry has-been, a relic from the 1970s, along with Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt. It appears the Democrats are using celebrities with famous names, but little to lose at the box office or from CD or video sales, to throw "red meat" at the hard core Democratic loyalists. This enables John Kerry to appear less partisan and reach out to more moderate voters.

He is not exactly in a position to be judging anyone else's qualifications:

The feisty Dreyfuss was kicked out of San Fernando Valley State College after talking back to a theater teacher. He never finished college.

Richard registered as a conscientious objector and so spent two years serving as a clerk at a Los Angeles hospital instead of becoming a soldier. He didn't want to be drafted for Vietnam. He wouldn't know a "war hero" if one kicked hom in the ass.

Going back to when he was young, he was best friends with Rob Reiner. He was sleeping with dogs then and now has the fleas.

In 1982, he was nearly killed when he smashed his Mercedes into a tree. Police found two vials of cocaine and 31 Percodan tablets in his car. He avoided jail by enrolling in a drug-rehab program. Another celebrity doper that bought his way out of trouble.

His most famous line is " we're gonna need a bigger boat ".

Well, then he's really screwed, because that's not even his quote. That was Brody's line.

I just looked at the "Patriots list" you posted. Wonder what criteria they used to assemble it. Since when is Howard Stern a Patriot??

...has begun a ferocious effort to cast doubt on John Kerry's record as a senator...

That's what they call reciting Kerry's voting record with total accuracy. It's never been charged that it was mistated. But, to anyone who can think, it naturally casts doubt on the wisdom of his votes when they all reflect a hard-left viewpoint.

Ferocious effort? I think not. All they have to do is show Kerry in old sound bites, and he does the work for them. As for Teh ray za, all she's gotta do is open her mouth and idiocy spews forth!

Boil it all down with these people, and it is all about abortion.

Ok, Dick, you're such a renowned political expert, suppose YOU tell us what Kerry's record as a senator is. Political experts have tried and can't . . . . . . because the only thing he has done for nearly 20 years in the senate is keep his chair warm. But, you know so much, Dickie-baby, illuminate the lives of those of us much less intellectual than yourself.

Don't be shy, Dick, we'll wait. Take ALLLLLLL the time you need.
