"With all the wailing the Left has done about Ashcroft, where the hell has he been? I want this creep in the slammer and singing like a bird."

Frankly, I want Berger's boss, whomever it was that ordered him to do what he did, in prison.

Berger can be free to run around implicating his boss for all that I care about, and in fact, that's not an unreasonable assumption of why he's been investigated for so long already...

Kerry told NBC News that he had been unaware Berger was under investigation.

Lawrence O'Donnell on Scarborough Country tonight said that Sandy Berger is the person who leaked the information about the investigation.

Then we have to make sure the story stays in the news.....

Agree, but how? - Letters to the editor are one way - but the only way to get more and more facts out is from the "heat" of the media covering it -

Yet, I am almost certain this won't be allowed - Just look how mind boggling oddly the national media have covered it now - I mean they seriously act as if a man putting papers down his pants is "normal" and "innocent mistake" - Each network has aired segments just completely falling over themselves by saying what an "amazing, honest man Berger is" -

It is mind boggling to watch - and I as much as anyone knows how biased the media is to begin with - and still I'm shocked.

I have a feeling the national media is not going to allow this story legs -

WaPo is on the case. They're slightly to the right of the NY Times.

For 35 years I worked in the realm of classified documents. I have also been in conversation with the National Archives, as to what you can take in, etc..

If Berger signed out documents at the Archives, how in the hell did they let him leave withoug signing them back in?

Just more government workers? Do they take this stuff seriously? I saw engineers lose their careers for being a lot less cavalier about security.

What really blows my mind in all this the the "kerry" connection - there are only two possibilities:

One is that kerry knew about this matter for months but still keep Berger around and only spoke out when he had too - and then just to cry about the timing.

Or two kerry was totally in the dark - which means Berger, Klintoon and others all knew for months but refused to tip kerry off....

Either way kerry looks like a total fool!!

As someone else posted, if there were nothing to this, the investigation would not be ongoing. My guess is that there are others involved with the documents and the investigators are giving them some rope. I hope.

"Drudge is behind; we knew all that last night."

No, Drudge is ahead this time. What is important here is that the Washington Post is going with another Page 1 scandal column against Berger/Kerry/Clinton...which means that they didn't fall for the Democratic Party line spin that this was no big deal.

Soxgate is now entering Watergate territory. The SS Democrat is now taking fire from the WaPost itself, and no doubt will show some damage when this baby runs tomorrow.

I don't think Drudge is behind; Matt's scoop is that the WASHINGTON POST is set to report it.

He's reporting what the Washington Post is about to report.

Remember, it isn't news until the MSM says it is news.

My take is Berger leaked the information for his own protection....Didn't Linda Tripp do the same thing....Making it public is the best insurance he can buy....and he IS willing to make a deal with the FBI now...also made public by his lawyer.....Some people are getting very anxious......

I hope you are right - but the DEM's are just spinning until Sunday - (then they know the media will focus on their Convention) -

I'm willing to bet you don't hear hardly a peep again about this Berger Scandal after this Sunday from the national media - It will be deep-sixed -

If the Washington Post starts reporting it, everyone will have to follow.

This is a potentially explosive story. You'd think one of the lamestream media would break down and expose it. That's what real journalists used to do anyway.

Mrs. Clinton stuffs 900 plus FBI Files.
Gets off free.

Mrs. Clinton looses her precious Rose Firm Billing Records for 2 years.
Gets off free.

Bill Clinton commits perjury.
Gets off free.

Bill Clinton in Oval Office stuffs his cigar in thonged intern.
Gets off free.

Samuel Berger stuffs his underpants in what he calls "an apparent honest mistake" with highly classified top really super secret documents.

Odds are he will go free.

Odds are "we the people" get a ticket for an honest mistake like a "Hollywood stop" getting off free?
None.

It's all 100 % obscene bs...these government bureaucratics only know one thing and that is do whatever it takes to deceive and abuse "we the people" for their own political, financial and personal gain.

What a bunch of f'ing kerry me to hell slimebags.

"employees determined that that draft and all four or five other versions of the millennium memo had disappeared from the files after Berger viewed them"

A deliberate attempt to obtain and destroy every copy of that memo. It must be released as the PDB was.

At least when Ollie North's secretary took documents they were secreted in a more interesting garment.

Why does the 'timing' of the 'leak' of a 'meaningless' act matter? That's something the socialists can't tell us.

Patience

They were slow to get on board with Watergate too.

If this story goes to Kerry it will be huge.
