Clinton Has Hunch That Bush Won't Win Election

PARIS (AP)--Former U.S. President Bill Clinton says he's got a hunch that George W. Bush won't win another term at the White House.

In Paris to promote his autobiography, Clinton called Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry a "strong leader and very capable" in an interview published Friday in Le Figaro newspaper.

Though wars have helped sitting presidents win re-election in the past, Clinton said he didn't think Bush's handling of Iraq would work in the incumbent's favor this November.

"My instinct tells me that the current situation does not guarantee Bush's re-election," Clinton was quoted as saying in comments that were published in French and translated back into English by The Associated Press. Saying the U.S. hadn't previously seen itself as an "arrogant, military power," Clinton added: "I am in profound disagreement with the method of the current government."

Hasn't everyone that the trashman endorses or helps in an election in the last four years lost?? Like gore, gray davis, mondale, janet reno? The only one I can remember winning was richardson in new mexico (well, duh!!). I would think the dimi's would start begging him to stay away. Losers begets losers!

"Notice the wiggle room he gave himself."

It's more than that. He says Bush's reelection isn't guaranteed. That's a very weak claim. Lot's of things that aren't guaranteed happen. So he's saying Bush's reelection may very well happen, but also may not. Big deal.

"PARIS (AP)--Former U.S. President Bill Clinton says he's got a hunch that George W. Bush won't win another term at the White House."

Geez, what did you THINK Clinton was going to say? This is news? (And from France, eh?) Wake me up when Clinton says he DOESN'T think Kerry will win.

***

"In Paris to promote his autobiography, Clinton called Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry a 'strong leader and very capable' in an interview published Friday in Le Figaro newspaper."

Oh really? Then how come we have no idea what his plans are for prosecuting the war? Or anything else?

***

"Though wars have helped sitting presidents win re-election in the past, Clinton said he didn't think Bush's handling of Iraq would work in the incumbent's favor this November."

Not with Democrats, no. And it wouldn't matter how he handled it. And it wouldn't even matter if he pulled out. And it wouldn't even matter if we never invaded Iraq. Kerry would be now be saying Bush was ignoring Iraq because he didn't want to be associated with his "father's failure" in 1991. He would be continuing his (and the Democrats') same line of "get Saddam" from 1998 that he and his buds are now trashing as if they never said those things.

***

"My instinct tells me that the current situation does not guarantee Bush's re-election," Clinton was quoted as saying in comments that were published in French and translated back into English by The Associated Press.

Your instincts also told you that you could smear Lewinski as a stalker, that you could nail everything that moves without devastating the feminist movement, and Hillary would be an asset.

***

Saying the U.S. hadn't previously seen itself as an "arrogant, military power,"

No worries, we still don't see ourselves that way. Most of us don't have Moore's Disease.

***

Clinton added: "I am in profound disagreement with the method of the current government."

Careful now, don't want to paint yourself in a corner where you can't still end up agreeing with everyone about everything...

A classic case of the media taking a quote and completely twisting it around to conform to their agenda and their wishful thinking.

"My instinct tells me that the current situation does not guarantee Bush's re-election" is hardly the same thing as saying "I have a hunch that Bush is going to lose the election".

Well, Bubba, perhaps President Bush wouldn't have had to deal with this stuff, if you had just--as the "bruthas", with whom you constantly align yourself, would say--"handled your business" when YOU were in office, instead of handling...well never mind. You "did it because (you) could", right?

Sleep well...if your conscience allows it.
