I really don't understand why they made Martha's the token case to prosecute. What about all the stock manipulation that helped create the NASDAQ bubble five years ago? What about the special treatment given to privileged clients by Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse First Boston, Schwab, and other big brokerage companies, to the great detriment of the other investors? But no, they chose to pick a not very lovable celebrity who committed a relatively minor (compared to the serious cases I just mentioned) offense. It's just strange.

It's just strange.

It takes some doing to get conservatives riled up over the prosecution of a democrat. This is one of those gotcha laws that are on the books and never enforced except when the government decides to go after you. There are thousands of such laws, and any of us could be prosecuted for violation of at least one of them.
