Your tagline is idiotic. If the president looses you because he keeps Cheney, then you never planned to vote for him in the first place and loyalty means diddly squat to you. This does not mean that the president should keep Cheney out of loyalty to him, just that he trusts him and that he feels comfortable with him

I don't think so. Just read some of the posts around FR and there are others who feel Cheney is a real assett to the ticket, and that Bush has already made too many moves to appease Democrats. For example, it appears that conservative values will not get much play at the Republican convention.

Cheney has been viewed as strong on those values, so I think it is critical to keep him on the ticket or risk turning off conservatives. And that is a very real problem, as Bush 41 found to his dismay in 1992.

So you may not agree that Cheney helps Bush, but I do. Even as far back as the 2000 election, there were those who said Cheney added "gravitas" to Bush's inexperience. I'm not a fan of those in the media who like to use that word, but the point is that Cheney is viewed as a very experienced, capable and important part of the administration.

I'm not sure how, based on this post, you can make such sweeping allegations of my support for Bush and who I will vote for. As stated in my post, and elsewhere, I'm fed up with Bush acting like a doormat. When badgered for more contributions to fund others to speak our for him, my response is that they won't see another penny from me until Bush himself speaks out more forcefully for himself. He's doing some of that, but he still shys away from addressing directly the more egegious media/Democrat lies and distortions about Iraq.
