The liberals and the media wants the president to drop Cheney, and if he does what do you think they will say? I can tell you it will not be an approval from them

FReeper ambrose is a Cheney hater, FYI...there's another thread where he wishes Cheney would "have a heart attack" for the team or something to that effect.

"Instead of being Kissinger, Cheney has been Nixon in the Bush term. He has hunkered down in the White House and ‘undisclosed locations.’ He's been uncommunicative with the broader public and unconcerned about his image until it's too late.

What a load of fetid dingo's kidneys.

This moron hasn't gotten the message that the adults are in charge now and can't stand it when they won't play all the usual games with the snotty Washington insider crowd.

Grow up Larry.

but W. wouldn't have to 'dump' him if Cheney faked a heart attack and stepped aside for health reasons. He has already had four heart attacks, so the excuse would be believable.

You are under the mistaken impression that Cheney is a negative for Bush.

And, what a silly, phoney idea.

Ambrose, get used to Cheney on the ticket.

"He's more associated with the Halliburton scandal than anything else in the public mind...clever, but since there is no "scandal" except that invented in the press by people like Sabato, this becomes another phantom issue best neutralized by ignoring it......

Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) said Wednesday he cannot envision any circumstance in which he would not run for a second term, saying President Bush (news - web sites) has been "very clear he doesn't want to break up the team."

There has been persistent speculation that Cheney would step down for political or health reasons.

"He's made his decision," Cheney said of Bush. "I've made mine. I suppose right now, because we're in the run up to the convention, people don't have much to talk about so you get speculation on that. It's normal. When we get to the convention, I think that'll put an end to it."

Look Ambrose you're simply wrong. Sabato is spouting DNC talking points as justification for dumping Dick Cheney. If Bush dumps Dick Cheney for the above stated reasons I won't vote for Bush. But Bush will never, ever do that.

Edwards is soft. He grew up soft despite his much ballyhooed "unprivileged" childhood which by the way was a helluva lot more privileged than mine and my siblings.

When the American people measure him next to Cheney in the current climate of bad men trying to kill as many Americans as they possibly can, Edwards is going to come up short, way short.

I wouldn't have Edwards with me in a touch football game, no less a war. He's soft, soft, soft. And he will pay a price for that in a head to head with Cheney.

You've got it right, Serves. The left wasn't interested in urging Bush I to dump Quayle because they really DID think Quayle hurt the ticket. They're never going to give W advice that they think would actually help him.

Bush should pick McCain or Powell

Yeah, the same McCain that voted against the Marriage Amendment.

Some of you people are really slamming the booze tonight.

I think Cheney's great and will probably mop up the debate with Edwards. But, on TV, the women and pundits on TV will spin an Edwards win because he looks good on TV. With that knowledge, I can't stop thinking how great it'd be to have Rick Santorum on the ticket. That would push Pennsylvania to Bush and probably lock up the election.

That is the whole point. He will bring in non-conservative votes. Maybe you should learn some politics.

Seems like everyone in the media has a thing for this "dump Cheney" movement.

Including Gallup which did a poll on the very subject of "Dump Cheney". Needless to say, the respondants by a a nearly 3:1 margin thought Cheney should stay.

Where's the BARF alert for this pessimism?

Fact is this:

THERE IS A CONCERTED EFFORT BY THE DEMOCRATS TO SPREAD "DUMP CHENEY" RUMORS. ... WHY?

If Cheney is so bad, why would DEMOCRATS want him out?

Cheney is *awesome* and smart and will whup Edwards in a debate, as Bush said:

"He can be President"

As for Cheney's public image, gee, you think 4 years of unremitting press bias, where Halliburton - the company Cheney once led (they ought to trademark it and charge royalties, the press overuses it so much) - is the main association with the sheeple.

C'mon, conservatives know he is a great conservative and he's a great asset to the Bush administration.

Bush will win or lose on his merits and it is mind-blowingly dumb to even entertain the idiocy of changing horses now.
