Backup electrical systems failed to kick in

A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained – six days later.

Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

Probably all permits would be denied and the cops would get a much freer hand, but due to the lack of numbers on their part they would not militarily be able to control us if we still got our expected turnout. If it happened BEFORE the Convention they might refuse to let us through bridges/tunels without submitting to checkpoint searches(or at all). In fact, closing ALL entrances to Manhattan would be an option on their part, attack or not, anyway, but only for a limited time, and certainly not for weeks on end. I don't think anything short of a nuke would create the same public fascism 9/11 did at this point. People woudl say "It's war, and this is what happens when you choose war." "

I actually had that thing from one of my online distributors that I could list it in my ecommerce site.

I even contacted Radio Astronomer here at FR cause I was AFRAID to list it.

He pretty much waived it off as a paper weight.

Radio Astronomer is:

China getting rattled by US' naval deployments

AFP , BEIJING
Monday, Jul 12, 2004,Page 3
China is getting edgy over a new US military strategy aimed at projecting force around the globe and National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice's visit last week was an attempt to calm Beijing down, analysts said.

Rice's trip on Thursday and Friday came as the US military was rolling out an unprecedented deployment of naval power to the Pacific Ocean in what is officially being termed a military exercise, they said.

"It is an unprecedented show of force and a return to gunboat diplomacy," said Andrew Tam, a security expert at the Institute of Defense and Strategic Studies in Singapore.

"The US is sending the message that any threat to peace and stability in Northeast Asia will not be tolerated.

"It is a signal to North Korea, but particularly to the Chinese. The carrier groups are sent as an affirmation of the US support of the status quo in the Taiwan Strait and the current status of Taiwan," Tam said.

The US Navy announced last month that three aircraft carrier battle groups were already in the Pacific and four others were being deployed for the war games called "Summer Pulse 2004."

Good...I was thinking if something goes down we might think it is AQ when it is these people. If they are stupid enough to go to these extreems then I predict that at a time when we are going be thinking "Terroist Attack" then these people are likely to find themselves 6 feet under. And I for one -won't be feeling sorry for them.

I'd still keep it simmering on a back burner. Something there seems to fit somehow.

I'm not sure that WWIII is an abstract. Not yet, anyway. Current events seem to imply that there are other sticks stirring the pot.

I will quote Quix here.

The 'puppet master' that wagged AQ's tail IS connected to the 'puppet master' that wagged AQ's tail.

They both use the communication system we always reference here. That was found in the blog connection we reference. Which is always why we do the searches and jump on the keywords from translations.

Large stash of "terrorism handbooks" found in Williamsburg

Dozens of bomb making books have been discovered at an apartment complex in Williamsburg.

A man stumbled upon the material at the Governor Square Apartments on Ironbound Road.

James City County Police turned the books over to the anti-terrorism division of the state police, and their investigation at some point could wind up in California.

Cary Peet is repairing air conditioners at Governor Square Apartments in James City County. With his work, he's always throwing stuff away in the dumpsters. And every now and then, he finds something of interest someone else has tossed. But, the crate of books he found recently in this dumpster concerned him.

"I feel like the police simply have to check everything nowadays because the one thing they don't check could turnout to be bad," said Peet, who called police after reading some of the titles on the 62 books, all of which had something to do with terrorism.

"There were books covering topics from terrorism to how to torture, bomb making, snipers, Things along that line,” said Maj. Stan Stout of James City County Police. “There were some unclassified military training manuals for weapons systems and the U.S. Army.”

Had there been just a couple of books, authorities may not have been as concerned. But Stout described the find as a library of terrorists books. There were also two names in one of them, and a West Coast address.

"It had a California address. I don't know if they were college students, because the apartment complex has a lot of college students living there," said Stout.

“I thought this is nothing, probably,” said Peet. “But I don't want to wake up one morning and discover somebody used to live in governor square set off a bomb some place.”

The two names found in one of the books were not Arabic.

"Looks like we have more than AQ to worry about...These people are sick..."

I think I'd have to differentiate between sick and evil. "Sick" implies some form of cure. There is no cure. Evil, as is the case here, demands a bullet. Justice is a bullet dipped in pig fat, as my friend HipShot so eloquently states.
