Berkeley (CA) Cops

It may sound strange to hear from Berkeley (CA) cops, but we have a co-worker there whos posted with a Civil Affairs unit. Sgt. C. Loverro is doing a program called Operation Pencil and Blankets with support from Berkeley
(CA) cops donating needed items for school kids.

The down side, being from Berkeley (CA) we don't get much support from our city and because Berkeley don't care for cops. Only a few selected news medial network had picked up the note worthy story, the local Berkeley papers has not covered it, thats a shame.

I just like to add, my co-worker C. Loverro is a true hero in his dedication and integrity in helping the children of Iraq. Hopefully his work will lend itself to this organization. Thank you for the work you do.

Thank you and Sgt. Loverro for your good work! Would love to hear details of your program: Website if you have one, no. of pounds or boxes shipped, no./names of local groups involved, no./names of Iraqi schools reached, or whatever info. you have time to share). Talk about heroes in a war zone - BERKELEY COPS ARE TOPS!

Gary Sinise was on the Dennis Miller Show (on CNBC weeknights at 9 pm Eastern) talking about this program. He is one hell of a guy for taking this mission of love to these kids. God bless him.

Pardon the ping...just passing on some info -- I hope someone hasn't posted this already.

Lt. Dan (aka Gary Sinise) was on The Al Rantel Show (KABC 790AM in Los Angeles;
www.kabc.com) last night for an hour...detailing his USO trips and help with
iraqichildren.org.

Either he's a rare jewel of a decent human being or he's just about the world's greatest actor
at portraying a decent human being.
(I suspect the first alternative is the truth.)

Sinise just gave a good summary of this good work and was humble about being just a part of it.
Sounds like Mel Gibson ain't the only resident of Malibu to rise above usual
shallow glitz of "show business".

Hmm...wonder if there is an even better way to "cut to the chase"...

I'm just lucky I searched before putting up a redundant thread.

I hope some of the hosts over at KRLA (and maybe Frank Pastore on KKLA) will
get wind of this and have Sinise and/or Hilldebrand on to promote the program.

Our troops are getting their hometowns involved, too...quietly, and without much attention, courageous hearts at work across Iraq.

That's right! In spite of what people like you would do to America it remains a relatively free country. This thread is a good example. "Nation building" is a huge waste of time and money. The ragheads are still going to raise their children to hate America-- no matter what we do for them! This "nation building" bullshit amounts to rewarding our enemies for attacking us. We should've hit Baghdad with Tactical Nukes.
