"Gay Militia" Storms Christian Dinner in Calgary

Dear friends,
Last night, Saturday April 17, 2004, a fundraising dinner was held on my behalf at the Coast Plaza Hotel in Calgary, Alberta. This dinner was organized and hosted by the Concerned Christian Coalition. Author of the book, Christophia, Rev. Tristan Emmanuel and myself, were the guest speakers at this event.
When I arrived at the hotel, there were a few dozen protesters, picketing in front of the hotel brandishing signs and chanting their pro-homosexual mantras.
Half way through the event a dozen or more self-proclaiming "gay activists", calling themselves the "gay militia", stormed into our meeting room at the Coast Plaza Hotel and surrounded the podium in the middle of an amazing presentation by Rev. Tristan Emmanuel. Rev. Emmanuel's informative and passionate presentation just happened to be about "Christophobia" and the persecution of Christians in today's society.
While banging on the walls and pounding drumsticks together, these protestors cursed and yelled things like, "haters and gay power" etc etc. Many were even dressed in camouflaged military apparel with masks over their faces. On and on they went and marched around the room, swearing and yelling, making complete fools out of themselves. One of them approached a lady that attended our dinner and got right in her face. I stood there ready to defend my sister in Christ concerned that the protestor would become physically violent. Hotel management had to bring in additional staff and ask them to leave and when they would not, the police had to attend and remove them. From what I hear the hotel has pursued charges against this group. Praise God!!!
It was absolutely amazing to see our group pause and join hands in the midst of this criminal outburst and pray for those that were there persecuting us. Some of us would have loved to talk with these protestors but they were far too aggressive and immature to attempt such. Coincidentally, or most likely by divine providence, I happened to be sitting with a young man who I invited as my guest, who just happens to be a homosexual. He was shocked and angered by the actions of these people.
Please pray that our Lord would move the authorities to take legal action against this group as they would certainly do to us, if we acted out in such a manner and most importantly, pray that Canadian Christians would rise up against this threat.
Sincerely,
Rev. Stephen Boissoin

Watch it. It's just bizarre. This is Canada. This is Calgary- the most conservative city in Canada.
God help us all.

how sick! Don't worry US is rife with them too. Here in NY they invaded St. Patricks and threw condoms at the altar.

Oh PUH-LEETH, they have been attacking the RC Church for years, despite the fact that the RC have been milquetoast on the whole issue to the point of allowing homosexuals into the priesthood.
Much as I despise their agenda, I still think they should be allowed into the St. Patrick's day parade, like they are in IRELAND. Then again, I aint Irish...

Well, then you'd have been charged with a "Hate Crime", quite naturally.
Ironically enough, the speaker they disrupted was speaking about "Christophobia". He was recently hauled before a Star Chamber Court for writing a letter to the editor that a gay professor didn't like.

It was absolutely amazing to see our group pause and join hands in the midst of this criminal outburst and pray for those that were there persecuting us. If one of them had gotten in my wife's face I can absolutely guarantee you he'd have been lying on the ground begging me not to break his fingers.
I'm a christian, but when people assault me, I fight back, I don't initiate a prayer circle. I pray when the circumstances warrant it. Not when someone's shoving a gun, ashtray, napkin holder, or some other object or instrument of physical violence, including their own hands, in my face.
I'm sorry, I just don't have the patience. It's one thing to come marching thru the room, but getting in people's faces I have absolutely zero tolerance for.

As to talking with them, they are way beyond talking to. Non-militant gays are worth talking to. Not ones that are that agendized. As well, you'll never accomplish a thing talking to them in a mob. Not a thing other than to outrage them even more. Trust me! Been there done that, many many times!

Oh, I agree with you. I'm a Christian, but I'm not quite one of "those" Christians, if you catch what I mean.
Of course, if they fought back, they'd have been branded as criminals.

Don't need to tell me. My first act of political activism was to launch a fight against the first "Queer-Straight" Alliance in my home Province (which happened to be at my school). I got 1/4 of the school to sign a petition denouncing them (or, rather, a specific item they were pushing which would have required all teachers in the Province to act as Sponsors of QSA's if asked).
In reprisal, I was hauled before two administators and a School Counillor (along with the leaders of the QSA) for a 'mediation' which was much more of an inqusition. I'm proud to say that I stood my ground against the bastards.

Nobody's stopping them from marching in the parade; just not under the "gay" banner. Their orientation has nothing to do with the purpose of the parade.

Not sure what you're getting at; but they're actually the initials of my first and middle name.
