"Desecration of the dead is the lowest form of behavior. It doesn't get any worse. This is a clear indication of the barbarity and sub-human savagery which is a trademark of this part of the world"

yes and we've allowed it to happen - without any action or any attempt to recover the dead.

What's worse - doing something because you believe it to be right and necessary - or standing by and watching something you now is wrong.. (when you have every ability to stop it)? Un f'n acceptable.

WTF?

Nah.

Predictable

They just had one of the U.S Generals in Iraq on the radio news, saying this will not go unanswered, they are going to hunt them down and kill em.

The commanders in control of the troops around Fallujah seem to be extremely incompetent. They knew this attack was happening and they did NOTHING to respond. I have even seen some reports that they pulled troops back from the edge of the City when they weren't even near the scene! It just seems incredibly incompetent to allow these Iraqi scumbags to mutilate and play with the corpses of retired elite soldiers, openly in front of several people and cameras without doing a damn thing to stop it or retrieve the bodies. They could have used an A-10 or some kind of air strike to disperse the crowd and get them away from the bodies.

Honestly the Marines aren't preforming as well as I expected they would. I'm not blaming it on the individual Marines but their commanders seem to reacting in a strange way. That's just my humble opinion and I admit I have no qualifications to make that accusation. Do any of you guys have a take on this? It just seems the war is much more politically correct now than it was before. Something seems to be wrong with some of the decisions they have been making over there lately. Especially the lack of action during yesterday's event and the reports of withdrawing from our positions around Fullujah.

Even if we were planning to withdraw from the city before the latest attacks it would be a big mistake to do it now. We must not only stay where we are, we must go on a massive and extremely aggressive and violent offensive in retaliation for the horror's committed by the terrorist scum in Fallujah. I really don't know what the problem is. I don't think anyone on Free Republic can understand why no one ever made any attempt whatsoever to get the bodies of our ex Navy SEAL's and Army Ranger who it looks like became fish food and dog food.

I may not be an expert on Military issues but I know there were things we could have done to stop what happened yesterday. Maybe we couldn't have entirely stopped it, but we definitely could have stopped it before it got to the point it did. We could have dropped a bomb and blew some of these scumbags into pieces and the rest would have scattered and got the message to stop. Maybe that would have mutilated the already dead Americans but there's a lot more dignity in that than the humiliation of a public mutilation by evil and ignorant scum.

Some of this stuff is confusing though. I hope that an agreement hasn't been negotiated with the occupation force to withdraw from Fullujah. That would show extreme weakness and would be close to outright surrender. The only reason we should withdraw from the outskirts of the city is if we are preparing for a major bombing campaign and are just getting out of the way. We need to level Fallujah and any liberal who complains about it in this country should be shown the video of the mutilations. I believe the majority of Americans would support the leveling of Fallujah even if the liberals complained. Once someone watched that video or seen those pictures they would understand exactly why we had to do it.

I wish Bush would just get on the phone with someone and tell them to go ahead and take drastic measures in Fallujah. Drastic measures by today's standards were common and effective warfare to us in the past. Everyone is so worried about how we will look to the world and liberals here at home that we can't even fight a war. Bush could send down an order for our generals to take off the gloves, but I think everyone is too worried about how people will react if we do that. We could possible lose our coalition. But we should do something aggressively no matter what because it will save American lives. No more PC BS.

Technically a misnomer. I think most dealers use the term Persian Rug as shorthand for a rug based on Persian design. Ones actually manufactured in Iran are pretty rare today. It's similar to the use of the term champagne.

The death of each one of these people is worth 10 Iraqi lives.
This is our only deterrence to the (US-led) occupation of Iraq,"
Nayef, a car merchant who declined to give his surname, told AFP on Thursday.

10:1 isn't anywhere near the proper ratio Mr. Nayef!
The population of your stinking town is 300,000.
That is a 75,000:1 ratio.

How many rag towns would have to be vaporized before they understand?

The punishment needs to be collective, devistating and very public. The terrorists draw their strength and support from the broad population. If we just go after the individual perps, a hundred others will spring up. We must stop being PC or this will just continue.

Additionally, to allow the bodies and the desecration to continue and the bodies to be cut up and fed to the dogs should result in harsh discipline to the local marine commanders unless they were following rules of engagement which lead back to our political leaders who won't authorize the necessary action.

We need to be prepared for increased attacks as we approach the handover to civilian rule on June 30th and we had better take action of such deterrence value that the Sunni's know MANY of them will die if they don't reform. Otherwise, we will lose many more Americans and the new Iraqi government will be weakened and unable to defend itself.

Falluja has been a seething problem since the outset. Recall last year they broke into the police station and released 100 prisoners.

This place has bombings almost every day, and has been the scene of friendly fire (police caught in the crossfire) and well-publicized civilian casualties.

We'll probably need several thousand troops to clean up the mess there.

"It might not be a sane thing to say, but I'd like to see the whole town turned into a glowing piece of green glass that would not sustain life for thousands of years."

I would personally push the button to make that happen. Our government needs to listen to us because if nothing dramatic happens it's going to build confidence in our enemy which will lead to more atrocities like this one. It will also make Americans lose resolve and confidence in our politicized military. The attack itself isn't going to do anything but strengthen most of our resolve, but if there isn't a big response it will definitely make me lose some of my resolve. As soon I learned this happened I honestly thought we would make an example out of Fallujah by attacking it with an extremely aggressive air and ground force. I thought we had learned our lessons from Somalia. We looked weak in Somalia which encouraged other scumbags to try and do the same to defeat us and make us lose our resolve. I have always thought that if this happened again, especially under Bush. That we would do something big enough that others in Iraq and around the world would learn that it doesn't work and will lead to your own death.

But now I am having some very big doubts. When I found out how long the attacks and mutilations were going on, it made me sick that our military didn't even attempt to get the bodies of these American vets out of there. Then I hear all these reports of us sating around passively, doing even less than usual by the sounds of it. Then when the politicians speak out about the attacks they say a few good things but it didn't sound like they plan to do much. It's the same BS they say after every attack that takes more lives than usual. I thought it might be given with more emotion and angry, but it wasn't.

If we do plan a major offensive it seems we are waiting too long to me. Most of the scum who did this are so ignorant they won't connect the events. They already started taunting us which they didn't do before. They were openly mutilating Americans and we never confronted them and still haven't. The commanders who made the decisions to do nothing should be removed.

How is the DOD going to tell the families of these guys that the Military did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING while their husband/son/brother was turned into dog and fish food by a bunch of worthless Iraqi s**t's. You would expect better, especially for vets. Whoever is responsible for doing nothing should be punished. I know am ranting and repeating myself, but I can't help it lol. Everytime I read something about this incedent it gets me angry the same as it did the first time.

Nope, the concept of Algebra and zero were claimed by the arabs as their own, but they actually came from the Hindus as well.

The concept of the mathematical "zero" comes from the Mayan culture.

I seriously think that the next ecstatic funeral mob, or the next ecstatic "Death to America" mob, should be napalmed after our video crew is in place.

Then, the footage of all the raghead idiots dancing in the streets with blood on their hands being turned into crispy critters should be broadcast over and over and over.

Agreed. It makes me SICK that all WE can do is sit here and hope our military gets a chance to shoot back. They need to be able to SMASH them down, NOW, TODAY.

"Grab a bunch of those little pukes off the street, coat them in pigfat, light them on fire and drop them out of helicopters. Then comes the MOAB and the customary "rain of pork rinds" after the rubble stops bouncing."

That would work with me:D But I don't know how many of these Muslims in Iraq are really religious enough to care about dying while contaminated with pigs fat or blood. These guys should just be killed. Burying them with pig remains could possibly help us with the religious fanatics lol.

Although I'm sure they would find an excuse as to why being covered in pig remains was okay as long as it was done while fighting a Jihad. They did the same thing with Suicide so they could carry out suicide attacks. The Koran justifies murdering people just because they are non Muslim, but it doesn't justify committing suicide, and it doesn't give any exceptions, including a Holy war. The Islamic terrorist leaders would just change things around to support their political motives.

You know, I keep trying to be rational about this, but every time I think of what happened, rage just overwhelms me. It might not be a sane thing to say, but I'd like to see the whole town turned into a glowing piece of green glass that would not sustain life for thousands of years. I'd like to see everyone of those grinning b*st*rds--and the dogs they fed--become a part of the mushroom cloud.

That's EXACTLY how I'm feeling today. I was very angry yesterday, but having seen additional photos today, I'm consumed with rage. I hate to admit it, but I personally want to kill EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM! How sick is that? God forgive me!
