Italy's Berlusconi eyes tax cuts

CERNOBBIO, Italy (Reuters) -- Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on Sunday revived vows to cut taxes to boost the economy this election year -- even at the cost of a bigger budget deficit.

"The economy needs a shock,'' he said at an economic conference in the northern Italian town of Cernobbio, adding that a tax-cut program needed to be carried out "immediately.''

Well, its a start. Sure, wish that included cuts to social programs, but from reading the article, it looks like he is having the same problem we are having in California. Try to even cut social programs, unions and other lefties say the world is going to end, nothing gets done.
