THREE CHEERS FOR OUR WONDERFUL TROOPS, THEIR ALLIES, AND ALL WHO ARE SERVING IN SUPPORT CAPACITIES IN THE WAR ON TERROR! YOU HAVE GIVEN THIS NATION A YEAR OF VICTORY IN THAT WAR! The honor is yours, but know that we bask in your accomplishments and love you for your steadfast service on this day!
Welcome, everyone to the 10th Troop Prayer Thread! Today is the anniversary of the resumption of hostilities with Iraq, wherein our troops have made military history that shall ring down the centuries.
The troop prayer threads are dedicated to giving our troops, allies, and all who are serving the Holy Cause of Freedom, including (but not limited to) the families and loved ones waiting at home and those who are not in uniform but who are serving in dangerous situations supporting our troops and gathering intelligence spiritual support. We seek together to offer prayer, scriptures, encouraging messages, and other devotions dedicated to this purpose.
We have over the past year gathered together a prayer list of these servants of freedom. You will find it posted below. FReeper amom has been serving as our List Keeper this past year and I wish to thank and commend her for doing such a meticulous job of keeping it updated. She has also been keeping our ping list up to date. If you wish to submit a name for the prayer list or to add or take off a name from the ping list, please let either or both of us know.
For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, or still have phone modems, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.
Thank you so much for spiritually supporting our troops, allies, support civilians, and their families.
We are grateful to God that for those who have been injured or taken back Home, He has dispatched angels to their care.

Dear Lord,
Lest I continue
My complacent way
Help me remember
Somewhere out there
A man died for me today
--As long as there be war
I then must
Ask and answer
Am I worth dying for?"
Taken from the book, "A Man Called Intrepid" by William Stevenson about William Stephenson, the head of British intelligence services prior to and during WWII. He wrote this at the very beginnings of the Battle of Britain and shared it with Eleanor Roosevelt.
STAR SPANGELED BANNER
Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'T is the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

AMERICA, WE LOVE YOU!
AMERICA, WE LOVE YOU!
AMERICA, WE LOVE YOU!
AND OUR LOVE IS GREAT ENOUGH TO HOLD YOU ETERNALLY VICTORIOUS IN THE LIGHT!
Thanks for the ping TEXOKIE. Besides prayers, I sent a little donation on another thread for the troops in Kirkuk.
McLynnan and patriciaruth are sending things to the troops for Christmas and the postoffice says to send by the end of October.
Just stopping by to say I'm praying.
Thank you for the info about getting things to the troops out by end of Oct.
I'm heading up a drive at church to gather up things to send. I'm hoping we get alot. These boxes will be going Baghdad.
My friends on this thread were very supportive of me and my family while my nephew Bryan was serving in Iraq (15 months).
Bryan came home in July, deaf in 1 ear from all the shooting, but otherwise OK.
A local soldier, SGT Amdrew Brown of Pleasant Mt, Wayne County, PA, died of injuries sustained last week in Baghdad.
I didn't know him but he graduated from the same high school I did. He graduated 2 years ahead of Bryan from the same school.
I'm asking that his family be kept in prayer. His body hasn't been returned yet and the family hasn't made any funeral arrangements. I can only imagine their pain.
This is a rural area and this kind of news really affects people, even people who didn't personally know the fallen soldier.

We are grateful that you felt supported during your vigil for Bryan, NEPA. We are even more grateful to know that he is back home safe with his family and friends.
Blessed Father in Heaven,
We ask that you will surround with your comforting love SGT Andrew Brown of Pleasant Mt, Wayne County, PA, and all the loved ones he leaves behind in this hour of his passing. We are grateful for his service and know that we can never repay him and all who have given life and limb and perfect health. We continue to pray in the manner which we learned from the Man Called Intrepid, William Stephenson. We pray that we may be ever mindful that as long as there is war, we must ask and answer, "Am I worth dying for?"
Father, we humbly ask you to guide us in how to lead our lives so that we fulfill that task. Help us to make sense of the loss of this young man by showing us how to live and take full advantage of the opportunities his sacrifice afforded us.
We pray for a healing miracle for NEPA's Bryan, who has suffered hearing loss as a result of his service in Iraq. Enter now into those cells, nerves, and tissues in those ears and let there be a restoration, according to your Plan and Will of the functionality of those hearing organs.
We place this on the altar and praise you for your loving concern and answer. This which we are asking for NEPA's loved ones, we call forth for all who are giving and offering their full measure in the armed forces, our allies and support personnel.
Amen

Prayers for the families of our fallen heros. Thanks for the Bush prayer site!
I thank God for this hero and join in your prayer.
PLEASE ADD ME TO YOUR PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE TROOPS. OUR FAMILY IS LT, DAVID ON THE ENTERPRISE.
We are pleased to add Lt. David on the Enterprise to our prayer list!
Merciful Father,
We ask that you will surround Lt. David on the Enterprise, his buddies, and all our troops this day with your mighty legions of protection angels. Father, these young people who have stepped up to join our armed services, our allies and those who are our contract support personnel are the best of the best. These young people are our greatest treasure. Please protect them. We commend all of them into your keeping.
Place upon each one that whole armor of God. Let our collective prayers for them be woven into a special swaddling blanket of your Light containing all the colors of your rainbow of love, protection, wisdom, courage, hope, discipline, healing, Truth, service, mercy, forgiveness, and Freedom. Let each quality be granted to Lt. David and all who serve according to the need of the hour.
We ask that you will enfold mariabush and Lt. David's family while they hold vigil for him during his absence. Grant them strength, courage, and infinite hope, patience, and peace. We join in their prayers for David, and ask that you will make it tangibly clear to them as to your care, concern and Presence in his life and their own lives.
Father, we are grateful this day for the magnificent young men and women who have placed themselves between their loved homes and the war's desolation. Help them all to know that despite the 5th Column muttering and peeping which we see in the main stream media, the ones in this nation who understand what America is are in whole-hearted support of what our sons and daughters are doing there.
Father, in our founding, we have declared that all of our rights come from you, our God. We affirm that together this day. Without acknowledging you as our Source for Everything, and the Giver of all our inalienable rights, the State could and would take them all away. You are our strength and shield and buckler. You are the Source of All. It is your guiding Hand which moves us in this fullness of time to fight to liberate the peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq. You are the Source of Freedom. You are the very Source of our protection.
Father, we beseech you to show us here in the homeland how we may each individually do our part to preserve that sacred document and covenant known as the Constitution of the United States of America. Guide our people in these upcoming elections. Shatter any and all attempts by those who would cheat by any form of vote fraud, manipulations or attacks upon our system. Confound and confute the ones who are aligned with evil in their designs to bring down the Lighthouse of Hope and Freedom which is America. Help us to preserve her goodness by remaining true to our founding principles based on the knowledge that YOU, our own Father and omnipotent God, are the one who is unfolding your Plan through us individually and as a nation.
We are grateful, our Father, that we are alive this day and have the opportunity to serve you in this hour. Guide our people, guide our leaders, guide our troops and those who command them, and help us all to work work with full knowledge that your hand is on our shoulder encouraging us each step of the way.
We praise you, Father, for when we set aside our own petty will and allow your own Divine Will to shine through, the works of your hands are magnificent and perfect. Let all be done according to that pristine and loving Will.
Amen
When I only had a few moments to look through the headlines the other day, I saw that there is a thread dealing with that subject about the wounded marine coming home to quints. I dont have the link to that thread, but I do join you with prayers for that family.
