"It was vulgar, offensive and insulting, not just to women and African Americans but to anyone with a sense of common decency," Clear Channel Radio Chief Executive John Hogan said in a statement. At first glance, this sounds more like Howard violated political correctness than actually committed a violation of "indecency policy". Anyone know the exact bit?

On the first anniversary of 9-11 he replayed his show from the attacks. It was chilling to hear the horror that was in their voices on that fateful day. I wish there was a weblink for all to hear!!

Boy, I can't wait until we get back to the glory days of the exciting Cousin Brucie and Casey Kasem shows- spinning those records, doing a backwards countdown of all the top hits of today- the only chatter you need is during the commercials, darn it. It's gonna be GREAT! (/sarcasm off)

I actually really like Howard. I think he's funny, sentimental, crazy, part libertarian, part conservative.
The part I dislike is the pornographer Howard. The women degrading Howard. The freak show Howard.
That and the fact that he's become what he hated, you know trophy bimbette blonde, just like Imus.

How long will it take Pres. Hillary to declare "badmouthing Democrats" to be in violation of "common decency" ?

Infinity owns the the Stern show - Clear Channel bought his shows for syndication - they are Infinity's competition. Stern's show is still aired by Infinity.

In the words of Nelson, "Ha ha." Looks as though Stuttering John Melencez made the right career move.

He's even worse than Bubba the Love Sponge. I can't tolerate HS. His show on E-Entertainment is the bottom of the barrel. He's the most sexist creep in America. He's as creepy as Michael Moore but MM is creepier in a different sense. Now, I've made myself sick. Gotta go.

I think Stern is garbage, so I don't listen. Where he really belongs is XM Radio or the other one, so kids can't get access.

It's good but...we need pay radio (maybe xm radio will become this) where there can be a market for adult and/or indecent shows. I like the gov keeping the public airways "clean" but there ought to be a private, gov free place as well.

Good. About time a corporation decided to take a stand about what it airs and what it doesn't air. Howard Stern can say ANYTHING he wants. No one says Clear Channel has to broadcast the same.

Probably overdue. Stern is a flat nut case.

Seems to me anyone that would actually listen to stern wouldn't be offended.
Probably wouldn't be offended by anything.

Viacom makes the CALCULATED BUSINESS DECISION to show "performers" ripping each other cloths off on nationally licensed television, and when there's a backlash, they take it out on Howard who had nothing to do with the real problem.

What are all of you going to do when a Democrat gets in office and is offended by Rush Limbaugh?
