make a business decision

Try making a business decison like this one where you work and see how long you keep your job.

This is going to cost shareholders millions in lost ad revenues and quite possibly end up in Clear Channel being forced to sell radio stations.

Hogan is the new Frances Willard.

I guess Freedom of Speech is a thing of the past......

With freedom of speech comes responsibility. There's no reason or excuse for base vulgarity. I'm sick of it.

Every once in awhile I used to tune inrto Howard to see what was going on, and after about five minutes I'd change the station. All it was, was inane, juvenile ramblings that I found totally boring.

Viacom makes the CALCULATED BUSINESS DECISION to show "performers" ripping each other cloths off on nationally licensed television, and when there's a backlash, they take it out on Howard who had nothing to do with the real problem.

Thanks to Janet Jackson's boob we are turning the tide of filth back on the perpetrators.

We owe the boob our gratitude. Bow to the boob!

What are all of you going to do when a Democrat gets in office and is offended by Rush Limbaugh?

I have a long ride to work every morning and lots of traffic to deal with, and its nice to have something to take your mind off things that are going on.

Go figure, I'll listen to Rush at lunch time.

If people don't like listening to him, then you don't have to listen. You know what you're going to hear when you turn it on, its not like the Super Bowl incident where the indecency was completely unexpected.

In my mind, he's a perfect capitalist, he offers a product and people want it, he has a market so he thrives. If some stations aren't going to carry the show, its their loss.

But its a shame that people try to force someone's show off the air who they have no intention of listening to in the first place.

The only black boobs that can be shown on television without a problem have to be attached to African tribal women it seems.

So in the new America the poor will have bland television and radio spoonfed to them by a handful of mega corps while those that can afford cable and XM radio rates can experiance choice?

I can remember the same thing being said about calculators, when they cost $100 and could do basic arithmetic.

Look, $10 a month is cheap and just about every American wage earner can afford it.

That's about 2 hours work at minimum wage to bring the joys of XM radio into the home.

"What are all of you going to do when a Democrat gets in office and is offended by Rush Limbaugh?"

Ummm...have you been following the news, lately? Rush has already lost one job...and is being persued at another. And this has NOTHING to do with any FCC violations. They've been trying for years to get Rush off the air.

The Constitution only guarantees free speech on your own property. A person is never free to speak on another persons property without leave.

Other stations will pick up Stern. Let the competition begin.

plus the fee for the equipment which is still not cheap and not mobile. No walkman XM radios. You need a car and if you have a small desk in a cubicle? You need a ste up for home and for office. Still not easy for people on a budget.

Clear Channel has been under so much scrutiny and held up as the demon created by deregulation. I am sure they see this as either an opportunity to help repair their battered image or one where they can at least quit passing out arrows to their enemies.

Censoring radio shows for whatever reason, coupled with the federal election censorship of politically related "free speech" prior to elections, signed into law by president Bush could be used to assert that the "first amendment" has been negatively impacted by team Bush/Ashcroft... and I think it will be asserted by the left. This is actually dangerous politically, janet jackson nipplesnotwithstanding.

the social cons will quickly applaud aspects of this that conform to their religious morality... but will be rather surprised in coming years when the very same laws, rules and regs are used to stiffle their freedom of speech in ways not yet envisioned by rational folks.

the question asked by key free speech advocacy groups will be: How has our freedom of speech been impacted during the current administration?

the question asked by certain gun rights advocates will be:
How has our right to keep and bear arms been impacted by the current administration?

the question asked by those of us with immigration concerns will be: How has illegal immigration been impacted by the current administration?

and on and on.
The majority of Americans who don't approve of Stern's crap, know they can always turn him over... and may NOT take kindly to the overall concept of government turning him off for us, via arm twisting at Clear Channel, by fcc decency police.

add to that some politcal censorship prior to the upcoming elections... and we have the makings for a popular revolt against "CENSORSHIP" of free speech... whether or not it's fair.

Your offensive remarks at #123 have been censored. You and Stern share something in common.
