I think this is a consequence of female economic clout. Women that have an independent means of support can and will think about sex differently then women who don't have that independence. I suspect this was seen during WWII when you had large numbers of women in the workforce as well. A lot of this reduces to economics. The rest is a function of social mores and morays but they are taking their lead from the economic aspects. Technology (internet, DVD's) play a small role, but a role nonetheless.

I thing this is one thing we can thank feminists for in a good way.

It's a fairly recent idea that women should know about how their bodies work and how to give themselves pleasure. Or even that women are entitled to enjoy sex.
