"SENATOR!" an exasperated Rodriguez finally shot back. "It's difficult for me to answer questions from a man I DO NOT RESPECT!"

I'm not sure it is fair to criticize Kerry on this issue. I'm sure he was just trying to protect some business interest of his wife. The Heinz empire has many agricultural needs and if Ortega was going to sell her sugar, for example, at well below the world rate, that would certainly justify the Senator's position. After all, it wouldn't have been like he was shilling for an oil company he used to work for, this would be for his own family fortune.

Why does it always seem that EVERY Dem running for President is a Manchurian Candidate? Joe Lieberman was an exception -- which is why he got snubbed by the Dems.

Surely you can't be serious?

After all, it wouldn't have been like he was shilling for an oil company he used to work for

You got somethin' you wanna say or are you just trying to be cute?

He was suffering from PTSD one poster surmised about his Jane Fonda words and actions..perhaps that is the reason he acts like an apologist for communist thugs in this case/sarcasm.

Can someone dig up the photo of Kerry and Ortega shaking hands, with a beaming Mr amd Mrs Harkin in the background?

After all, it wouldn't have been like he was shilling for an oil company he used to work for, this would be for his own family fortune.

John Heinz was still alive in 1988, and still married to Teresa Heinz. Kerry's family fortune was still Heinz's at that time.

Kerry didn't marry into the Heinz empire until 1995, he was separated from his former spouse, Julia Thorne. They were separated in 1982 and divorced in 1988.

By the way, it is interesting to note that if you do a Google image search for Daniel Ortega, here's what you'll get if you click on one of the pictures.

These Weapons of Mass Destruction cannot be displayed

The weapons you are looking for are currently unavailable. The country might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your weapons inspectors mandate.

Please try the following:

  • Click the refresh.gif (82 bytes) Regime change button, or try again later.
  • If you are George Bush and typed the country's name in the address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly. (IRAQ).
  • To check your weapons inspector settings, click the UN menu, and then click Weapons Inspector Options. On the Security Council tab, click Consensus. The settings should match those provided by your government or NATO.
  • If the Security Council has enabled it, The United States of America can examine your country and automatically discover Weapons of Mass Destruction.
If you would like to use the CIA to try and discover them,
    click Detect Settings Detect weapons
  • Some countries require 128 thousand troops to liberate them. Click the Panic menu and then click About US foreign policy to determine what regime they will install.
  • If you are an Old European Country trying to protect your interests, make sure your options are left wide open as long as possible. Click the Tools menu, and then click on League of Nations. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Head in the Sand section and check settings for your exports to Iraq.
  • Click the Bomb button if you are Donald Rumsfeld.

Interesting article. I did a Google search on Felix Rodriguez, along with Contra, Kerry, and Army. It is interesting to see the hits - mostly in favor of Kerry. I then did a search on Felix Rodriguez with Bay of Pigs. Lots of interesting reading concerning him and George Bush - 41. It is a bizarre world out there!

No kidding. Sometimes it seems the world is one big tangled ball of yarn. I had never seen THIS photo of Che Guevara in jail, with Castro at left buttoning his shirt.

They're not in jail. They're in a ratty apartment in Mexico, before leaving to start the mess in Cuba in 1956.
