Good jobs have left our economy because business has become more productive and efficient by downsizing its work force.

I totally disagree with that simplistic attitude based on ignorance.

But you are absolutely correct that government employment doesn't suffer from competition and never really downsizes when they should. After the 1996 welfare reform worked so well (that the Dems and Clinton whined about but then took credit for), the government agencies that ran those programs never got smaller.

>>>I have debated this to my satisfaction. Have a nice day.

Figures. As with most "pragmatists", you're easily pleased. LOL The issue was never about aggregate discretionary spending adn you know it too. That was a red herring you threw out.

I will repeat what you said.
"Cutting spending is a political impossibility. Reagan could not do it".

If you took the time to read both articles I posted, you'd see just how wrong you are. PresReagan made real cuts in federal spending during his first three years in office. Those cuts came in the only area possible, discretionary spending. Specifically, non-military discretionary spending. PresReagan cut non-military discretionary spending by 13.5%. That's historical fact! You lost the argument.

"Four score and seven years ago, our forefathers brought forth a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."

Very good. And I assume you did not cheat. There are few people your age that have the ability to do what you have demostrated. That was my reason for asking it.

Feel free to look up GW Carver, and look at what the man did with the humble peanut! He was one of the prominent black Americans, in the early 20th century, and we white folk learned a lot from him.

Ther are way too many 'teachers' that cannot teach, but have the credentials, and want that g'umt paycheck, with bennies. It is a shame, because there are always willing 'learners'...

Thanks for the 'game' and you win the match! BTW, for all of the answers, you can go to:
