Hussein tried to bury himself in the basement of a home...a fairly (chuckling) ignominious end to such a brutal dictator.
There were several million dollars there, not just some ordinary Joe living in the basement.
Anchor: The governing council would like to announce to the people of Iraq that Saddam Hussein is in custody!

CNN: There are a couple of scenarios that cause the military concern. If he was turned in by other military people, that is going to cause some concern. They want to know that the turn over is not some effort by some other opposition group to gain power in the insurgency movement.
Someone turning him over for the reward money isn't as great a concern than if someone is attempting to seize power.
