Sharks, 30 feet and up. A swimmer would be just a snack.

And Crocs too.
Big Crocs.
Still making Australia a thrill.
I recall see a 17'+ Hammerhead Shark hung up on the Intercoastal Waterway Bridge in Pompano Beach years back.
I used to swim there with our faithful Collie "Heather" who thought she was a skindiver with fur.
Funny thing is we were never afraid; no fear; nature was something we lived within and in harmony with.
But I do recall a gang of us playing "Pre-Jaws" one night across from Hillsboro Lighthouse:
A large truck inner tube
Wrapped with heavy cloth under a parachute cord
Welded link shark chain and hook
Bloody chicken
Inner tube over a piling
Tossed in the baited hook
World's largest rubber band
Shark lost bigtime
Cut out his liver for our cat
Cat just stood on it
Liver was 10 Xs bigger then out cat!
Today's kids complain about everything little thing.
Did we save his "JAWS"?
No
We were just kids
