GENERAL GEORGE S. PATTON, JR.'S PRAYER

Below is the famous "Patton Prayer" and Christmas greeting sent to the men of the Third Army December 8, 1944:

"Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen."

I figure it still applies to today

That is the first time that I have read Patton's prayer, it makes me want to to end with "and Christ is Lord, Indeed." It reminds me of the hymn, that goes, "from victory, onto victory, His army doth he lead, until every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord, indeed."

It's much like the words from the Bush state of the union where he said, "There's power, wonder working power in the... people of this country'. The words were similar to the hymn, "power, power wonder working power in blood of the lamb." I posted about the phrase the night of the STOU, but none of the Freepers caught it, or knew what I was talking about, but the liberal press must of read my post because I keep seeing references to it in their writing.
