Tuesday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” network White House correspondent Jim Acosta said at the coronavirus press conference President Donald Trump seemed “scared.”
He said, “Anderson, I will tell you in seven years I have covered the White House, that is the most stunning briefing I have ever sat through. To have public health officials come in and try to explain to the American people that they need to come to grips with the fact – or the very strong likelihood that we’re going to see 100,000 to 200,000 Americans die over the next couple months from the coronavirus. I have to tell you — it was just downright chilling.”

Is that change really necessary? If 100k-200k die in the next two weeks because of covid-19, no one would question a continued shutdown for 2-3 months as a precaution against a further outbreak.
Does everything someone on the left says have to be knee jerk attacked? has free thinking left this site? I read through quick and see nothing but attacks here. Every time I call my 85 year old mother I anxiously await the tone of her voice and am thrilled when she sounds like her same self. Meaning that she is fine. IOW, I am afraid for her. Scared if you want to say. Trump is looking at losing thousands of Americans on his watch and you don’t think there is an element of fear in him? I’d like to say Acosta meant it as an attack. I know he generally is an idiot. But I heard it and it sounded reasonable to me and said in a respectful way.

Meanwhile, I can’t imagine Obama ever having a briefing where he admitted anything bad could happen. He didn’t in 2009 when H1N1 was projected to kill a hundred thousand if we didn’t come up with a vaccine; we did and it killed 12,000.

Acosta is simply an idiot that doesn’t know how to deal with honest people. He’s just one of many that’s using their form of media to talk the economy down. It’s their only hope of victory in November.
