Personally, I believe it was rigged and that McCain was instructed to lose.
That said, given a choice between Obama and McCain, Obama is clearly the better one.

McCain's reaction to the popularity of Sarah Palin was certainly very peculiar for a fellow who ostensibly was trying to win the office. I put it down to childish resentment at the time, but now I'm not so sure. Schmidt's reaction was one of immediate, visceral, open hostility, which is also very peculiar for the same reason. For people who weren't trying to pooch the thing they're giving every impression of people who were.
