DES MOINES, IOWA — The Democrats who gathered here for a day of fairly anguished strategizing about what they’d have to do to win back rural voters did not speak kindly of their own national leadership or reputation or behavior.
Over and over, during a seminar called “Winning Back the Heartland,” they bemoaned the condescending way some of their fellow Democrats talk about their fellow Midwesterners, particularly those who live in small towns.
“We forgot how to talk to folks, and when we did, we often talked down,” said Tom Vilsack, the former agriculture secretary under President Barack Obama and former Iowa governor, who won 67 of the state’s 99 counties during his last election in 2002, a state that’s now increasingly red.
Vilsack said he often hears Democrats assume that of course rural Americans serve in the military in disproportionate numbers because they want to get away. When the real reason, as he sees it, is that farmers know better than anyone that you can’t keep taking and taking from the land without giving something back to it, so they get in a way that others don’t how important and necessary a thing it is to give back to our country through service.....

Because normal people realize Democrats are perverse, insane and evil.
Because they are perverts, they hate middle America and ridicule it constantly, and they attack everything that makes middle America good, fun and decent. They are attacking every potential middle America job they can find.
And they do it for insane reasons. Beef is bad because of cow farts. Oil is bad because they think Florida will disappear underwater. They hate the military and that’s where the military comes from.
Middle America can flip over a newborn animal and tell if it’s a boy or a girl...they cannot.
And people instinctively know who hates them and who doesn’t. Middle America also instinctively dislikes non-productive people.
I would suppose they are self-hating liberal white people who hate white people. Maybe I’m out of date.
Oh, let’s see. Kneeling for the Anthem, Bathrooms at Target, Forcing someone to bake a cake, Forcing Littlse Sisters to provide abortions, Baskets of Deplorables, Clinging to guns and religion, Coalworkers will adjust and get retrained, Strip searches at airports, the Police acted Stupidly, Rain from your roof is the Federal Governments. Water in a ditch is a running stream.
I don’t see much MAGA in all this.
Because they are openly siding with illegal aliens against the citizens and the rule of law.
Need to learn how to talk to “the folks”. Filthy vile lying SOBs are democrats.
They mistook Obama’s two terms (won with considerable GOP help) as final victory, and revealed themselves too soon.
Forcing Christians to support gay marriage.
Trashing the First Amendment.
Lying as policy.
Corruption as standard operating procedure.
Wanting to confiscate guns.
Trashing the police.
Trashing the military.
Promoting communistic ideals.
Trashing the flag and our heritage.
Crapping on the Constitution.
Putting immigration over Americans.
Dividing this country for perceived political gain.
And just being all around douchebags.
This list could go on and on. The fact that they think all of that is a good and moral agenda is the reason they are losing.

you make a good point. particularly since 99% of the world fully believed that Hillary had a 99% chance of winning.

Give up your guns.
No more First Amendment (except for porn, leftist incitement to violence and terrorist communications).
Your church will hold gay “wedding” ceremonies or we will shut it down.
Your taxes will pay for abortions.
Your daughter will be forced to share restrooms and showers with men.
More illegal aliens to drive down wages.
More “recreational” drugs everywhere.
Schemes to make water and fuel more expensive.
Yep, the Dems sure have been looking out for the rural voter.
Because they hate people in the heartland.

Ummm, that would be, "illegals, cheap labor from any 3rd world country, men who want to use the little girl's bathrooms, and violent black AND white radicals who hate this country.
