They only thing Trump needs to apologize for is not being tough enough on the soros/antifa and BLM.

Every time Romney opens his dumb mouth he shows what total traitorous backstabbing POS he is. Zero was the worst president in my life even worse than dismal Jimmah, but maybe mittens would have been as bad.

If only 5% of the Trump supporters showed up on the Mall or Capitol theyd back down so fast youd think they never opposed Trump in the first place.
We will see, but I am quite certain that they would not back down. They may double over in laughter, but they would not back down. Such a rally would be widely viewed, and heavily covered: unfortunately, the pictures shown would all be of stooges carrying Nazi paraphernalia, and the story line would be: "right wing white supremacists attempt to hold on to power after their fascist leader is constitutionally removed."
No, they would not back down. They will be heroes to the people they care about, celebrities within the liberal enclaves they frequent, and the owners of highly paid do-nothing jobs. If they think about those 5% marching, it will only be to laugh at their impotence.
And if you think they wont, remember this: Hardly any Confederate soldiers ever owned a slave, yet they fought four long, bloody years for the South. And they didnt have modern automobiles, trains or aircraft to take them to where the fight was.
As I said, the question is what will Trump supporters do. You apparently see some kind of armed conflict. You may be right. But it is very important to remember that this country now has a large minority that hold no allegiance to this country. The supporters of the removal of Trump hold 95% of: academia, public education, modern culture, high tech, the media, and sizable majorities of elected officials, governmental agencies, soccer moms, banking, government-funded interest groups. This is *not* the same country is was back then, and while there will be 70 million highly angry people, it is very difficult to see what they actually do.
The one certainty is this: it won't be a repeat of 150 years ago.

Yep, and another “Republican” that does what the establishment media tells him to do, contrary to what the voters want.

A great point was made today on talk radio (Rush). Nazi/KKK groups versus Antifa/BLM groups. Which group has the power?
Americans are not going to elect Nazis. They are pretty powerless. All Nazis had was their civil rights under the the Constitution.
Antifa/BLM supporters get elected to government positions, get invited to the WH! These leftist groups have funding, Democrat & Republican Party, and mainstream media support.
The left is making an issue out of a small group of people for their unpopular beliefs. People that have no power. Why is that? They really aren’t much of a threat.
What’s Really going on?

It is not an accident he did it now. It probably came up while McMuffin and Romney were talking after making sweet NeverTrump love.

Romney you moron - don’t you realize with this one comment about Jefferson and Washington statues, Trump just sealed the deal for his reelection?
And for Republicans for decades to come? That means hundreds of conservative judicial appointments too. That means getting rid of Rinos like you. Trump has single handedly put the conservative movement on a winning track - and all you did is lose, you idiot.
With this one comment he baited the Democrats into calling for the removal of statues of Jefferson, Washington and all of the founders, because they owned slaves or tolerated slavery. And they took the bait because they are as dumb as bricks, like you.
Trump is a genius for saying that, and you want him to apologize for it? Do you really think the American people want to see angry mobs tearing down statues of the founders and demeaning the Constitution and Declaration as flawed documents? Even democrats will have a problem with that.
I foresee a Reagan like landslide in 2020. Trump smart. Romney dumb.
LOL

Your fears are way overblown. Trump is in great shape politically, and the DNC is in tatters. There is no chance of impeachment or removal.
I can understand why you would think the noose is tightening around Trump’s neck. The witch hunt is very real - Trump has a lot of enemies who are desperate to bring him down. The MSM has abandoned all pretenses of honesty or objectivity, so there is non-stop reporting of Trump’s impending demise.
Fortunately, it’s fake news - either wishful thinking or cynical smears intended to demoralize or fracture his support.
What we have to do is ignore the noise (whistle past the graveyard) - Trump has this. He has a way of setting up win win situations. It looks so bad sometimes the way the fake news gets away with running these smear campaigns, but he comes out smelling like roses. I thought it was over a couple times but I was wrong.
Many of the Dems, MSM and Rinos are fooled by their own games - they actually think they are on the verge of getting rid of him. Soon they will realize he’s here to stay and the Rinos will try to get back in his good graces. Some of the Democrats will even become more reasonable when that happens. Even some of the MSM will realize they have damaged themselves by selling out to the DNC and mend fences like they did when Reagan got reelected by a historic landslide.
The only thing I worry about is some left wing kook getting too close to him - that would be a heartbreaker because there is nobody else who can do what Trump is doing.

HEY MITT, STFU and go away.

Your fears are way overblown. Trump is in great shape politically, and the DNC is in tatters. There is no chance of impeachment or removal.
Actually, Trump's impeachment is highly likely, not because of his weakness, but rather because of his strength. You completely misinterpreted. The left has a great number of strengths, but their weaknesses are the reason that they simply have no choice but to impeach Trump.
While the left controls virtually every institution in this country, outside of religious institutions, they are very unpopular. They are getting decimated at the state level. The electoral college, which once favored them, is now making it very difficult for them to win the presidency (outside of a McCain/Romney type of opponent). And they are facing a certain brutal defeat in the mid-terms, especially in the Senate. Finally, they are rapidly becoming a geographically localized party.
The left has an even greater problem than all of that. They have nothing binding them together other than their contempt of predominantly white, middle America. Hipsters, yuppies, liberal elite, welfare queens, gays, first generation immigrants -- these people not only have nothing in common, they actually don't really like each other very much. If the midterms go as expected and, then, Trump wins reelection, the left will fall apart. The clown car will be no more. And for that reason, they *must* impeach Trump.
The left has too much invested to simply give up, and too much to lose. Their only recourse is to impeach. They see the same numbers we do. Trump is not getting hurt by all of this (at least, not enough to put his reelection in grave danger). Voters are abandoning the Democrats (outside of places like Calif., where new votes don't really matter much). The upper midwest is probably gone to them, and without it, they have no chance at defeating him in 2020. The result of 2 terms of Trump will almost certainly be the dismantlement of all of the gravy trains, and all of the willful blindness on the part of the Feds, that the left is reliant upon.
And it is for these reasons that they will impeach, and remove (with Republican complicity), consequences be damned.
Their choice: see it all disappear, or impeach Trump. And since much of the Republican party at the federal level is actually *part* of the left, they have the votes to jam through impeachment, and Trump simply has no constitutional recourse.
Your optimism is nice. But you don't seem to realize that a) he makes mistakes, and is not some kind of political genius and b) the other side, for all of their weaknesses, have quite a few strengths, as well, and, this is the most important part -- they are fighting for survival, and are completely committed to keeping what they have.

EXACTLY why I will never vote for Romney or his ilk.
To: jjsheridan5
If by “impeach”, you mean “call for his impeachment”, then you are right.
I am sure there will continue to be handfuls of idiot Democrat representatives going to the press and “calling for impeachment” as a PR stunt. Talking about impeachment wins them brownie points with their base, but they don’t really want to go through with it.
Why? Because every time an opposition party attempts it, they get BADLY spanked by the voters - who simply do not appreciate having a bunch of a-holes in congress presume to try and reverse the results of an election.
Especially in this case when they are in the minority and they know it is a futile attempt.
The Republicans aren’t going to impeach their own party leader - not even Rinos. They might leak threats as a way of putting pressure on Trump not to drain the swamp, but actually vote to impeach? - no way. That would be toxic, especially when everyone knows the “charges” are bogus.
If you don’t think Trump is a political genius, and if you think I’m overly optimistic - that’s OK. I like my odds betting on Trump.
