‘Trump Played Me For A Fool’: Disgruntled KY Trump Supporter Laments Not Having Voted For Hillary

Elliott County in Eastern Kentucky, which has voted for a Democrat for president in every election for 144 years, overwhelmingly went for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton, by a vote of 2,000 to 740.

The county remains overwhelmingly Democratic in its registration, with 4,580 registered Democrats and 429 registered Republicans, according to the Lexington Herald Leader.

This week, CNN visited Elliott County, which is among the poorest in the country with a staggering poverty rate of over 34% and which has one of the highest percentages of people in the nation who rely on federal benefit programs.

CNN sat down with one Democratic voter who for the first time in his life, cast a vote for a Republican presidential candiate, but is now regretting his decision to back then-candidate Donald Trump, who swore he’d never touch Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

Trump’s new budget, released last Tuesday, recommends $4.1 trillion in spending cuts to federal assistance programs like food stamps and Medicaid, social services the Easterling family depends on to survive while jobs are scarce.

“I mean, I felt just like I was — just like he played me for a fool,” he said. “I mean, I kind of took it personal.”

When asked if he would recast his vote, he said “without a doubt” he’d vote for Hillary Clinton if he had the chance to do it again.

When CNN asked another Trump voter about Trump’s proposed cuts to federal safety net programs, he had just two words for his fellow neighbors: “Tough luck.”

So this idiot wishes that Hillary Clinton was President and this country would have been overrun with refugees who commit acts of Jihad every day..guess he would have been fine and dandy with that one

Well, the SOB ought to grow up!

There are no “do-overs” in elections, at least not for four years.

He obviously thought someone gave Trump a little, red, “reset” button to push on January 20th, and make all the world right again.

All i say to him is, “tough $6/+, dude!”

$ 4.1 trillion in cuts?

The entire 2018 budget is $4.1 trillion.

Actually he doesn’t care about any of that or what the rest of the country does. He only cares about his own little world, his welfare, foodstamps. I bet he has no cable or internet and probably no phone.

Sad most people do not know what the bill is and what it really represents. You have to wait. Chances are these are the same idiots that bought Obamacare and had to wait to see it. I am78 and from what I have seen it will probably affect me and my wife as much as anyone.I will wait and see and if it does so be it I have had a great life and do not want my children suffering because of idiot,Evil Democrats..

I think many of those who are not being proactive with their lives will believe they were sold a bill of goods. If I were in coal country, I wouldn’t wait by the phone waiting for it to ring with a call to go back to work. Many are going to be waiting, and waiting and waiting and feeling Trump played them for a fool.

I concur—been there and had Ky as my area for several years. Even though I was constantly hiring, esp in those little towns (pt but a job!), no one wanted to work. They told me they “made” more money from the Govt—I was shocked but overall KY is welfare heaven

Elliot County is coal country. Hillary said "“We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business,..."

interesting what the people of Elliot County said at the time Pres. Trump was elected.

CNN has been doing this. They’ve managed to find a few people who regret their vote. That was what you call propaganda, though. They found one guy who regrets his vote and gave him a puff piece all the while promoting their/DNC agenda for social programs. However, this is why I contend that they have to just let Obamacare fail. Let the Democrats own it.

Be careful with these, though. There is a Twitter account called Trump Regrets. I have caught some of these people saying they regret their vote for Trump, and I go through their account history, and it turns out they voted for Hillary!

Fake Outrage Troll? Where is any proof at all that this bozo ever supported or voted for Trump?

IOW this guy sounds no more genuine than the FR trolls who -- repeatedly -- come on Apple threads trashing Apple and anyone who uses their products -- yet, demonstrably (via their ignorance of the subject) never owned a single Apple product.

Paid troll -- or useful idiot? There's a difference?
