Billionaire investor Carl Icahn is expected to be named special adviser to the president on overhauling federal regulations, according to people familiar with the matter.
Mr. Icahn, who has spent the past four decades battling big companies as an activist investor, already has been wielding influence in President-elect Donald Trumps transition team. He is playing a central role in selecting the next chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the people said. Interested candidates have reached out to him, and he is interviewing others at the request of Mr. Trump, the people said.

Trumps choices for his staff and cabinet are impressive. Not the usual retreads.
This is another great choice.
For someone who is not interested in Draining the Swamp (as Newtie just alluded to) Trump is sure picking some non political - outside the Beltway types for his administration.
Go Donald!
Great appointment. The lefties’ heads are gonna really explode.
When they talk about the left, I don’t usually hear things like “Billionaire owner Bill Gates.”
Excellent choice!!!
Excellent point.
They’re already exploding, the process should be accelerating at mach speed!!
Great pick...
See the pattern here? Most of the appointees are wealthy enough to not be influenced by bribes from the lobbyist and special interest crowd that have controlled the District of Corruption for the past 50 years or more. Go TRUMP!
Newtie needs to just SHUT UP!
good choice. Carl is a very smart, very knowledgeable guy.
This is excellent! As for liberal criticism of Icahn having a role in selecting an SEC chairman, always remember that Joe Kennedy was selected as the first chairman of that agency. He was a known stock manipulator, but the thought was that it takes a thief to catch a thief. Icahn knows where all the bodies are buried, what regulations work or don’t, and what is broken on the street. Excellent choice from a President who thinks outside of the box.

The MAGA movement should be permanent. No more people running for elective office unless they have been successful in the private sector = creating jobs, living off their own income, proven honesty and competence. Just take a look at the likes of Harry Reid - a lifetime political hack - and very rich off the taxpayers and bribes. Time to drain the swamp and build a damn dam!!!!!!
Excellent pick. This guy wastes no time, just like Trump.
He's also an old, trusted friend, whom Trump knows won't lie to him, nor do/say anything stupid.
Indeed, lots of lobbyists and special interest folks are probably starting their job hunting efforts shortly.......
From my perspective, one measure of success for a Trump Presidency is whether DC suburb residential real estate prices level off or even decrease. They’ve undergone a boom in the Obama years.
A great guy ;-)
