Cruz may sense his azz is ashes in TEXAS and Trump has possibly toyed with offering him a rope with which to hang himself with and get him out of TEXAS.

Do you think that if Cruz stays in the Senate he would have a lot of trouble getting re-elected from Texas in 2018?

It will depend on funding and a credible R opponent. In the face of Cruz’ total suicide speech at the R Convention, that PAC groups for Trump would take Cruz on, in TEXAS.

Those indications went quickly silent, but nevertheless are held andto be hopeful for those of us who want him out.

Cruz had millions from Goldman in reserve. Michael McCaul was thought to be a strong opponent to Cruz and who has a very wealthy wife. However, Trump was looking at McCaul for Homeland Security. McCaul is now chairman of the Homeland Security Committee and had reportedly said he would consider challenging Cruz if ample money was at hand.

Rick Perry, TX Governor, has also been floated as a possible opponent, but no response from Perry.

The problem is the Democrats will put up the Castro twin brother to the other Castro already promoted to Housing and Urban Development, in DC. Cruz turn out will be depressed now, and Hispanics for Castro could conceivably make it a race.

Cruz still owns that Goldman campaign money. He may not be eager to part with it to run a really competitive race.

It will be up-hill to unseat him without money and a pretty big name, but his fan base is a shell of what it was before it came out he was a Canadian and a dirty tricks type.
