The Democrat aims to ignore the email and Foundation controversies, seeing a shrinking calendar as her friend.
She is not planning on sitting for another televised armchair confessional to rehash regrets about a private email server. Nor is the campaign setting up the kind of war room employed last year to discredit a book that aimed to expose a quid-pro-quo relationship between Clinton Foundation donors and State Department officials.
With 75 days until Election Day and new emails once again casting a pall over her campaign, Hillary Clinton aims to run out the clock, confidants say, on the latest chapters of the overlapping controversies that have dogged her campaign since the start.
According to allies and operatives close to the campaign, Clintons team thinks they can ride out any negative reaction to a set of new emails that show Clinton Foundation officials trying to set up State Department meetings for donors during her tenure as the nation's top diplomat.
That doesnt mean no response, one Clinton team insider said, but a muted one rather than a five-alarm fire.
It's a strategy borne, in part, of a belief held deeply by Clinton herself that the email controversy is a fake scandal and that voters are as sick of it as the candidate herself and by the profound weaknesses of Clinton's opponent....

I remember hearing this same thing last election. Of course, it was Tomney who had it in the bag and was running out the clock.
He hammered her pretty good tonight as did Nigel. :)
Hillary began preparing to run for 2008 in late 2006. She has been running for President for 10 YEARS! She wants this more than anything. If she could be out there campaigning like Trump, she would be. But she can’t.
That is what Clintanoid moderators like Stephie are for.
Nor is she going to debate Trump.
“How will she hide from these questions during the debates?”
you don’t really believe that any debate moderator is going to ask Hillary any of these embarrassing questions, do you? it ain’t going to happen.
They will,Trump won’t.Trump may play the gentleman. You okay Hilary?Do you need to sit down,do you need to take a break. He can hammer away at her by being a gentleman
It’s more of a classic “let’s you and him fight” strategy:
Trump and the media fight, she stays above the fray.
Without the eager cooperation of the media it would be crazy. But the media is her willing ally.
Simple.
The moderator will ask Trump why he is being such a sexist bully criticizing her health.
It’ll be the NY Senate debate all over again.
HL, speaking TRUTH to power. Mr. Trump hit ‘er hard, again, this evening. He will eventually find that sweet spot and let ‘er rip. Nigel Farage gave a wonderful speech here on American soil. Mr. Trump has patriots which surprise even US. To be a fly on the walls of that plane, with all these great men would be the dream of many an American. When the cameras panned the crowd in Jackson, Yuge, amazing! All those people. Young, old, black, white. They were there to hear the words we heard. On one feed alone almost 30,000 tuned in to listen to the words spoken by DJT People are ready for change and this man can make it happen!
One nation, undivided. One nation whole, safe, free, employed, prosperous. One nation under one God, drawing strength from our Christian faith.
We Trump Trump Trump until we reach the White House!
The pay to play steps went in this order: 1) make large donation to Clinton Foundation, 2) call in favor when needed, 3) Pay Bill Clinton $$$ to make 20 minute speech, 4) Hillary used position and State Dept to grant access, favorable deals and decisions.
There are documented cases in the latest email dumps, and in the movie Clinton Cash and the book it was based on.
Run out the clock? The real campaigning hasn’t even begun yet!
Even if they don’t, I believe Trump would find a way to work it into his responses to other questions. If he keeps mentioning the scandals and she ignores them, he gets to set the narrative, so she would be forced to respond.
Never works.
More football and basketball games lost than by any other means. Always a bad strategy. A loser’s strategy.
Re your post #34, I hope someone in the Trump campaign took note.
I’m sure they know, just like everyone in Washington, DC knows what the Clintons were up to.
Bill’s speaking fees suddenly tripled when Hillary became Secretary of State. Some of his best paying speaking engagements were “coincidentally” paid for by entities that benefited in big ways from things that came out of the US State Dept. These entities or individuals tied closely to them made large donations to the Clinton Foundation.
It was all out in the open pretty much.
