Donald Trump cleared up one thing in his speech in Charlotte, North Carolina, last night: he is running to win.
Throughout this very odd election cycle, some pundits have periodically suggested that Trump wasn't serious in his run for the presidency. First, it was said that he got into the race simply to garner publicity, to burnish his "brand." He himself, it was said, was surprised that he did so well in the primaries.
When it became clear that he was poised to win the nomination, the story changed slightly. Now, he was said to be playing the buffoon because he didn't really want the job. The same line was repeated and amplified post-convention whenever Trump went off-message or waved The National Enquirer about. Anything having to do with Ted Cruz really seemed to set him off. And off he went, as his plummeting poll numbers showed.
But these last couple of weeks have shown the world a new, more disciplined Donald Trump.
His speeches on the economy, on foreign policy, on policing and race relations, and -- just last night -- his brilliant speech that touched on everything from national security to race relations, free trade, immigration, and Obamacare, have shown that he is deadly earnest about winning this election.
To employ a phrase that Trump himself favors: Believe me, he's in it to win....

I think from here on in the Trump campaign will be gaining steam. Lots of info coming out about Hillary according to Newt.
The problem though is that even when info “comes out”, it changes little to nothing.
I like his off-the-cuff speeches better than his teleprompter ones.
I think Newt hit it on the head in his interview with Hannity - - Trump has been in a battle between his IQ and his ego. He probably has known he shouldn’t be going off message and making off-the-cuff remarks that end up getting him in trouble - but his ego reminds him that hey, he’s been doing things this way for a year and it won him 37 primaries, so why change?
By letting the IQ win this week by using the teleprompter, staying focused, and “acting Presidential”, he has now seen that he can do this and draw in more support while still “being Trump”. Kellyanne Conway will be travelling with him and I think she’s the kind of personality who can give him good feedback that will be accepted, just as his family does.
What do you call five polls all moving with a tie/margin of error in less than 10 days?
I d call that quite a bit of something.
Hillary CANNOT visit anywhere without handicap-modified vehicles, handrails, and ramps (instead of steps). Besides, she is sleeping for the next several days, resting up for her next ten-minute speech.
Can you list them please?

Rubbish. Trump is the only one still standing and fighting to defeat Hillary. The rest cut and run and are AWOL from the battle to defeat Hillary. If Trump goes down, it’s with his boots on. The same can not be said of Cruz and the rest of the AWOL “conservatives”.
“quite a bit of something.” Meaning what?
I also saw Newt tonight and he also said he is confident of a Trump win.
Trump is staying on message and connecting very well.
You’re right on.
The teleprompter has helped him immensely. He’s staying on message and connecting and staying out of trouble. He’s on offense and that’s key to winning.

Agree 100%
First, Trump had to gain the attention of the public.(which is not easy if the media doesn’t like you)
Now that people are listening, he’s putting the meat of his plans into the conversation.
It just makes sense.
I really enjoyed primary Trump, with his high energy “shoot from the hip” style, but this transition to polished Presidential candidate had to happen. Timing is perfect.
Hopefully it means that she is starting to take on water...
Good points.
You’re right on!
Go Trump! Make America Great Again!!
