Me.
I was a supporter of Cruz, and was disappointed when he lost the primary count. Voted for him, almost sent money, talked him up w friends.
Then, when Trump won the nom, I knew that I wanted him (and Pence) over (cough, cough) Hillary; and, that the damage to our fine Country from a Hillary dictatorship might be severe.
Then, imagine the reaction of folks just like me when Cruz chooses to let his hurt feelings and vengefulness outweigh priority over our Constitution, borders, culture, and way of life.
I see Mister Cruz being spurned by once-Cruz voters.
Rule 1?
Don't double cross the Base.
.
I echo your thoughts on Cruz, but is there any sign a legitimate primary opponent will emerge?
......well thought out post that I substantially agree with!
I for one though and going to wait and see who my choice is other than Cruz. Cruz does have a strong conservative record and would be good for conservatives on the Supreme Court.
All he proved at the RNC in his speech is that very smart people can do very dumb things. Conservative’s can still find a place for Cruz. Like Chief Justice.
You and I have a similar narrative about Cruz.
When I enthusiastically support someone, and then he betrays what I thought he stood for, I get very disappointed and angry...and I never trust that person with my support again.
It is not a matter of “unforgiveness”. It is more like:
“Fool me once,
Shame on you.
Fool me twice,
Shame on me.”
I think Cruz showed us why nobody, everywhere he has been, likes him. He is self-serving and I hope Perry or somebody runs against him.
