To: Fester Chugabrew

Actually, the author’s name is Christopher G. Nuttall, and he’s a Brit. He’s also an excellent AND prolific author of SF and Fantasy. Additionally, he has unusually deep insight into politics in both Britain and America.

I can’t recommend his books enough. Plus, when you read the first few books of his “The Empire’s Corps”, you realize that WE, right here and now, are the model for his Galactic Empire. . .

Wouldn’t be the first time us contemporary Americans acted as a template for a Galactic Empire. George Lucas did that with the Empire from Star Wars as well, and the Rebels he modeled after the Vietcong. Though in Lucas’ case, he did it more to demonize our involvement in Vietnam, while, if I read your post about Nuttall correctly, he portrayed his Empire in a positive light.
