First go to Tennessee law professor Glenn Harlan Reynold's web site, Instapundit.com, and take a quick look around. The site layout isn't all that different from Free Republic, except Glenn and a few friends pick out the stories. He lets Disqus manage the comments. OK so far.

Next, on the right margin should be some reprinted Twitter posts (known as tweets). At the bottom of this section it says 'View on Twitter'. Click on this. The resulting page can be viewed without signing up for Twitter. Just hit escape to cancel the 'sign up or log in' nag and Bob's your uncle. Note that professor Reynolds only originates a small portion of these; the majority are reposts ('retweets') of what others have posted that he thinks we would find interesting. Lotsa cogent, snarky, mostly conservative thoughts follow like a flood tide.

This is a really good way to try and make sense of twitter without joining.
