As others have noted, EAL is alive and (so far) well again - someone pulled the remains of the company out of the trash heap, dusted it off and got it running again.

No, it's a whole different company. The owners just bought the intellectual property including trademarks of the original Eastern Airlines from whatever company ended up with it after the bankruptcy. The planes are just painted to look like the original Eastern Airlines.
