If this idiot Shaheen knew anything about hunting deer she’d know in all states that I know of you need a .25 caliber or larger which excludes an AR-15.

If this idiot Shaheen knew anything about hunting deer shed know in all states that I know of you need a .25 caliber or larger which excludes an AR-15. In Indiana, the minimum is .357 Magnum. But we are not allowed to hunt deer with "rifles" either. Shotgun, pistol rounds (now provided in long gun form) only. Of course crossbows and all bow are allowed as well.

Not true. I’ve killed dozens of deer legally with .22 rifle rounds. They have to be center Fire, not rim fire rounds.
22-250 Savage 99 is one of my favorites, but my first year Ruger mini-14 was what I took my first deer with. It shoots .223/5.56mm.

PA is any centerfire but any humane hunter is going to use a reasonable cartrige. Most popular here in SW PA is 30-06, 30-30, .308, .270.
SKS and an AK with a 5 round mag is popular in WV, just a few miles away. 7.62x39 is roughly equivelant to a 30-30.
