Muskets were a weapon of war. The Founding Fathers seemed OK with that. Times change. Now we have better weapons. And, times being what they are, we may have need of them real soon.

Yea, smooth bore muskets were. The British infantry were mostly armed with them.
Our frontiersmen, farmers etc., were mostly armed with rifles. The assault rifles of the day.
And the Brits came to confiscate them.
They lost.
