Anyone who hasn't done so already is irrelevant. They became so when Trump reached a majority. It was, ironically, with unaffiliated delegates that Cruz had claimed as his own.
I wonder if Trump won't be better off, more able to attract independents and Bernie supporters, if he DOESN'T have the endorsements of Cruz, Ryan, Romney, the Bushes and the rest of those who don't give a damn about the will of the voters.I've been thinking about the millions of dollars Trump has spent on this campaign. How much of it is because of the antics of the nevertrumpistas?
There is an electoral majority to be had without them AND their supporters.
If one is to truly remake a party, one must not only vanquish the opposition, but expunge them...and then win without them. They must be isolated and completely without influence.
Cruz and his supporters have chosen this fate for themselves. They will be expunged and the nominee will go on to a general election win.
