What power? Which career? He could accumulate more power and have a more meaningful career in the Senate. The vice-presidency offers neither. Cruz wants to be president. He's not going to get there as Trump's vice president.
Its the first MMA election. You talk smack then beat the snot out of each other and when its over you hug, shake hands and praise your opponent. That's sportsmanship.
I’m sure yours is just the first of many revision of Trump’s story to come. The yokels have been scammed by the NYC huckster again. I wonder if he has any bridges or swampland for sale?
Because he’s being gracious to a defeated foe.
Thanks for the laugh. It is always so effective to insult your opponent, in the hopes they will come around to your line of thinking.
Was the Massachusetts madman a better candidate?
I’d prefer Cruz not be near any levers of power for another five or ten years - he needs to mature a little. I can see him as an effective Solicitor General - shorter leash, less opportunity to undermine Trump’s agenda, and an occasion to learn to be a team player.
The North American Union and Goldman Sachs alliances are too troubling for him to be the AG, especially given the composition of the staff in that office and their propensity for extraconstitutional regulation.
Cruz will be able to resurrect and improve his reputation by participating in the high profile cases which will result from the Trump agenda. (You know the libs won’t give up easily.)
Who knows, maybe even SCOTUS in a few years - but, I see that nomination not getting through the Senate easily right now. He has some serious fence-mending to do.
I agree. The time for insults and labels is over.
>Youre not helping your cause by perpetuating the division youve caused within the party.
Ted Cruz didn't have the class to bury the hatchet at his concession speech and you're blaming us? Let's agree to put it behind us and focus on Hillery.
Educate yourself.
LOL....Trump would make cRuz unseal all of his records, first, before considering seriously.
That would be the end of that.
Art of the Deal.
Bwahahahaha.
Nope.
cRuz is untrusTED.
No. Cruz is not a natural born citizen. He’s not eligible for Prez or VP.
If Trump really believes that Cruz could not be President due to the unconstitutional NBC, gracious or not he should not even be looking to Cruz for VP. Trump is all over the place...with everything! Also, if Cruz is the biggest liar that Trump knows (as he has stated so many times), why would he consider him for VP?
Won’t happen...
Next ?
Won’t happen
We done here : )
Perhaps “I’m open to that” is Trumpspeak for “no way in hell”...
I hope he is only being kind. Once I was a huge Cruz fan then TPA, Coker and a list too long to name. But then Trump believes strongly that people can change and he did encourage Cruz to get a court ruling on NBC.
You know people use “I was only...” for all kinds of nasty, unnecessary statements and actions and it never really works!
Trump always knew that his real enemies where the Bushes and Ted was just their tool. And Ted may mend his ways in the future and serve the country with honor. Trump likes fighters and Cruz fought him much longer and harder than anyone else.
Not sure about that. Senator Cruz got more votes in WI than Trump got in NV. Why else would Trump be giving so many accolades to Cruz?
But you are probably correct. Trump doesn’t need Cruz votes . The latest CNN poll showed Trump losing to Clinton by 13 points. Sanders was winning by 16 points. No Trump doesn’t need Cruz supporters. He’s got it in the bag...
I hate to break this too you regarding Ted...
but about 55 % of the republican electorate does not see it that way.
What they see is an opportunistic politician who has a driving personal ambition and who melted down in that speech on Tuesday morning. A literal melt down.
Ted needs reclamation as much as Trump needs his voters.
If Trump loses he is still rich. He and his children’s children are set up.
Cruz may well have destroyed his national career this nomination, unless he does something to reclaim it. In PA, which is Trump territory, Cruz is not viewed well. The longer that impression is allowed to go unchecked, the less chance Cruz has to be elected dogcatcher come 4 years.
For Cruz’s political well being he would be wise to shake the extended hand of Trump. If he does not it will demonstrate to the 55 % of republicans that do not like him that there impression was correct.
Just a point to ponder....
I would think it politic and strategic to “think on” and “consider” just about anybody when it’s still Job #1 to defeat Hillary. There’s this organ between my ears that’s real handy for thinking and considering, as an alternative to jumping to conclusions. I’ve long suspected Trump makes similar use of that mysterious gland ;)
