Portland, Oregon (CNN) — John Kasich made a deal to go one-on-one with Donald Trump in Oregon, and he's wasting no time.
Wednesday morning saw the release of a new TV ad in Oregon, touting that rival "Ted Cruz pulled out of Oregon" and that Kasich "is the only one that can stop Trump and defeat Hillary Clinton in the fall."
The ad doesn't describe the agreement reached by the Cruz and Kasich campaigns that had Kasich pulling his resources out of Indiana, with Cruz doing the same in Oregon and New Mexico. The plan allows for each candidate to have a "clear path" to compete against Trump in those states.
The Kasich campaign already faces one stumbling block in the state, they failed to file a candidate statement for the Oregon Voters' Pamphlet.

A lot of the people I’ve talked with east of the Cascades are all in for Trump.

Oregon is such a beautiful State, I’ve been there many times when my daughters lived in Corvallis. Liberal Californians moved there and ruined it.
I’m sure we are going to see him chowing down on Marionberry Pie sometime soon. Purple lips.

I hope that the Oregon campaign trail hits back.
Rural areas, even west of the cascades are for Trump. The scourge lies in Portland, Eugene, parts of Salem and of course, the plethora of leaches living off the government who will vote for socialism.
The rest of us are sane rurals.
When I read the headline, I immediately had a vision of “Road Apples” hitting the trail.

Eastern Oregon and Washington are far more akin to Idaho and Nevada then they are to the uber liberal coastal areas.
Here in Idaho we are about as conservative, traditional, and constitutional as you will find.
I have found my friends east of the Cascades in OR and WA to be the same.
I have always wished there was a way to make the two states into on Coastal state for western Oregon and Washington, and one intermountain state for eastern Oregon and Washington. That would line up far more accurately for the people living there.
...and would allow the people in eastern Washington and Oregon to have their views adequately represented in government.
